Product of the Day- Review

I recently decided to try some curly product shampoo/conditioner for my huuur.
Since about March I have been wearing my hair curly in it's natural form. My routine has been
washing in with a regular shampoo, not brushing it out straight, and putting Garnier
Surf Hair paste in it to scrunch it up, and using my diffuser to blow dry out.

It is super easy, has lots of volume, and lots of curl. My hair is very naturally wavy/curly so
this process works for me, but prob not everyone.

Ulta had some products on sale recently and I decided I would try the Redken "Fresh Curls"
line. I have mixed feelings about this product. When I first started using them I felt like I could
tell an big difference in my curls and how bouncy and curly they looked. However, as I have used
it more I feel like it just gives me more messy volume and a heavy feeling than great curls.

I have found myself not reaching for this as much as other shampoo/cond so I guess that should tell
you how I really feel about it. I will continue to use it b/c I don't hate it and it doesn't make my hair
look bad or ratty, but just not the effect I was hoping for.

What shampoo's/cond do you like most?

Weekend Rewind What's in my Bag?

It's almost Fall, Ya'll.

For most of you this time of the year is one of your most favorite seasons and you look forward
to so many things. Football games. Cooler weather. Tailgates. Scarves. Boots. Darker
nails and clothing. Halloween. Etc, Etc.

I have to be honest with you... Fall is probably one of my least favorite times of the year. I hate
the transition from summer to fall. I hate dark nights and cold weather. I hate knowing that kids have
to go back to school and their summer is over. And living in AL means people are OBSESSED
with college football. I enjoy some fun tailgates and being around friends and good food, but
I think I have accepted the fact that I just don't care that much about football and I get tired of
getting on FB and seeing nothing but that posted everywhere. Bleh!

So, anyway enough Debbie Downer talk. In the past few years I have enjoyed the season a lot
more. A few of my fave things about fall... dark finger nail polish, scarves, boots, fun decor, and
CANDLES!!!!! I love me some fall scents.

With all that said this weekend I picked up my favorite fall bath & body candle. Last year
I discovered "Leaves" and bought at least 3 rounds of this through the fall colder months.

Bath and Body describes this candle as:
"Celebrate the brilliant colors of autumn with this rich blend of golden nectar, red apple and berries. "

Gals, I can't even explain how rich and fall in a jar this scent smells. Do yourself a favor this
upcoming season and pick up a few of these! Your home will thank you for it!

Happy Monday and start to a great week!

Nail of the Day

Happy Friday.

I'm not even go to say it.... you know what I am thinking in terms of blogging.

OPI "San tan-tonio" has become one of my summer faves. I love this sandy
neutral shade. It's a great transition shade if you are wanting something a tad darker to go
into fall. It's really a great shade for year round.

I love short rounded nails. My nails will grow to look like witches if I don't cut and file
them down very often.

Feetsies!!

What do you think about this color?! Thanks Al for introducing me to another great OPI
shade.

Do you know how excited I am getting about Fall nail colors?!?!?! It's my favorite!!

Have a great weekend.

Home Improvement (Coffee Table)

While shopping for new furniture for my apartment I became a little obsessed with a coffee
table from Pottery Barn. I think I mentioned that I have been buying a lot of my furniture off of
Craigslist. When I visited the home of a girl who I was buying my World Market kitchen
chairs and table from I saw it.... the coffee table that would not compare to any other I had seen.

Do you ever have an obsession that manifests itself immediately and nothing else will compare and
no amount of money will stop you from getting what you want?! Ok, maybe a certain amount of
money, but you know you HAVE to get this thing that you have become obsessed with.
This Pottery Barn coffee table was that thing for me. After not being able to locate the table
on PB website I made a call to the store here in B'ham and found out it was the "Hastings
Reclaimed Wood" coffee table and retailed for $599. Yowza!! That's a bit steep for a coffee table, but
again I was justifying my decision to spend this money with things like... "this will be a piece that
will last forever" "I have never bought myself a really nice piece of furniture and this can be my first"
"I haven't seen anything else that I like this much and I know I will be so happy with it" and on
and on. You get the picture. Us girls have our ways of getting what we want and it making perfect
sense.

So, before purchasing the table from Pottery Barn I contacted a guy in Montgomery that makes
tables and furniture to see if he could imitate this table for less money. After a few emails and him
assuring me that he could make it as close to the real thing as possible for half the price I said let's do it.
He assured me that if I didn't like it I wasn't obligated to purchase it so what was I losing!

I am so thrilled to announce that my coffee table turned out just as I had expected and I saved $300!!!
I am in love with this table and it really is the most favorite thing in my humble little abode.

See pictures:

Ain't she a beaut?! A rustic beaut.
She's a large beaut... measures 56" wide, 35" deep, and 17" high.

Latches that are on top

Here she is in my place nestled away with her other family members!
She fits in so nicely.

Got to finish my decor on her top!

I tried to save the actual pictures of the table from Pottery Barn, but am having a hard time
getting them to save... so if you are curious to see what the actual table looks like to compare click

Let me know what you think and if you would let someone build you a knock off table.

Have a great day!
