Makeup Mayfest Day 4

I thought I would share my current foundation and concealer routine
that I've been liking.

I had heard great review, after great review, after great review with the
Revlon 24 hour Colorstay Foundation. I had opened it up about a year ago at a
drugstore and thought the consistency looked way too runny and watery for me.

They have 2 different formulas. One for combination/oily and another for
dry/combination. I have a bottle of each and actually enjoy both of them for
different reasons based on what's going on with my skin.

Revlon describes this foundation as a lightweight formula with longwearing
coverage that doesn't cake, fade, or rub off. A flawless look all day long.

Despite my skepticism for how it would work for me I decided to cave
and try it out this year. I kept hearing girl after girl talk about the best way to apply and use
this foundation was with a beauty blender. At first I didn't use it this way... I was stubborn
and tried it with my fingers or a brush and kept being disappointed and wondering what all
the fuss was about UNTIL I pulled out my blender.

Wow. What a difference and how right everyone was. The finish and look of this
foundation is so pretty when applied with a damp beauty blender.

I just take the sponge and run it under cold or warm water and then squeeze all the
excess water out with my hands and then take a towel and ring it out once more. After
that I pour the foundation onto the sponge and then dab it onto my face.

Rather than rubbing or trying to blend it in fast it works best if you just stipple
the product on and take your time.

I have the combination/oily formulation and what I like about this is that it
doesn't dry my skin out or look too fake. I feel that certain brands that are designed
for oily skin or claim to give you a matte finish just look too drying.

This doesn't. It controls oil and shine, but with the damp beauty blender gives
a very natural and pretty finish and glow to the skin.

Next step after getting my foundation on is applying my Maybelline Dream Lumi
concealer under my eyes. This is a brightening and highlighting concealer. If you don't
have a ton of darkness or bags under your eyes this baby is GREAT. I love it for making my eyes
look more awake and full. It is a great drugstore product for highlighting and enhancing
dark areas that need some light and brightness.

This has a little brush at the end that makes it easy for applying the product right up under
your eyes. I have the color Radiant and it's a gorgeous color with some light pink tones
in it. My advice with this concealer is go lighter than you normally would. The purpose of
this is to really highlight that area so the lighter colors looks best.

Product of the Day- Concealer

Today's product of the day and review is brought to you by
Revlon and Maybelline.

I have been using 2 different concealers for different reasons, but they both have been
a favorite in my routine during these winter months.

On the left I have Revlon Photoready Concealer in the shade light/medium.
This is my favorite concealer of the moment for concealing blemishes, spots, or even
under the eyes. It's a thicker formula, but yet very creamy and blendable. I didn't use this
as much during the summer, but it's been perfect for me during the winter months as I have
felt my skin needs extra coverage in areas.

I have found myself applying a thinner layer of foundation all over my face and
then using this to really go over areas that are in need of some tlc for a more flawless finish.

Love this concealer and would definitely repurchase at my drugstore when I run out.

The concealer on the right is Maybelline Dream Lumi touch Highlighting concealer
in the shade beige (might need a lighter shade).
I have found this to be a great concealer for brightening up your under eye area. I don't have
many dark circles or bags under my eyes, but I still find it helpful for making my eyes
look more awake, youthful, and brightened. I had to play around with this a little to find the best
application is patting with your finger. I used brushes and sponges and wasn't getting the effect
I wanted, but after application I just use my middle finger to lightly dab the product into
my skin and you can see the difference a lot more effectively.

I have friends that don't use concealer and it's not always needed. You can always
double up on foundation if you need extra coverage, but for me during these colder
months I find it more needed and it gives me a more polished look when I want it!

These both have gotten great reviews in the beauty world for different reasons.

Wednesday Wishes

Happy Hump Day!

Can you believe next week is Thanksgiving?!?!?! Where oh where has this year gone?
Sheesh Louise I can't get over how fast time just keep flying by.

My beauty wish list item this week is...
NARS Concealer. I'm a huge fan of NARS laguna bronzer along with a few of their
blushes (orgasm, and sin). I have heard amazing things about their creamy concealer and how
well it cover blemishes, dark spots, etc. My face has gone a little cray cray lately with
break outs so this could really come in handy right now!

Here is what Sephora has to say about NARS Concealer

NARS - Concealer

                                         nars
A lightweight, creamy, long-wearing concealer.

What it does:
NARS Concealer brilliantly obscures imperfections and dark spots with a creamy, vitamin-rich formula that nourishes the skin. Its long-wearing, crease-resistant, and ultra-light yet opaque formula ensures a flawless finish.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan

What else you need to know:
This product may be used alone or over foundation.

Research results:
-97% agree that the Concealer has a smooth texture and felt soft on the skin
-93% agree that the Concealer stays in place all day
-90% agree that the Concealer blends easily

Size: 0.07 oz

This concealer retails for $22 so it is on the pricy side, but I bet it would last for
a long time depending on how much you use.

Have you tried any NARS products? Would you buy this concealer?

Friday Faves

Well HELLOOOO there beauties!

After a near month break of blogging, I'm back! Where have you been you say?
Why did you stop blogging? hmmm. I'm not really sure. Laziness, planning trips
to NYC and Mexico, and best of all I got a baby puppy dog last week!! She is a light
apricot maltipoo named Millie and she has consumed my world. I will do a post on her
soon so you can meet this precious little angel!

So, I'm going to try my best to keep up with blogging and doing more reviews, but with
the Holidays quickly approaching I'm not making any promises! : ) Things get cray cray
around this time of the year.

So, I do have a Friday Product Fave that I wanted to blog about. I bought the Revlon
Photo Ready concealer about a month ago and have been using every day under my eyes and
on any blemishes I have!

Guys, I have to say I am so into this concealer. I have quit using my higher end
stuff and grab for this over the expensive stuff now! It is a stick which would lead you
to believe it would be a more dry consistency. Negative. It is the most creamy, smooth,
blendable concealer.

My face recently decided to turn into a pizza right before my trip to NYC and this
stuff covered my blemishes like nobody's business! I even showed my girlfriends on the
trip how well it hide my pepperoni face. They were all impressed and wanted to use it!

It's a bit more expensive than maybe your average drug store product, but much better
than a department store. Retails for $9.99.

I purchased the 003 light/medium shade and it works perfect for me for anyone that
is interested in knowing.

Ok, so this was a quickie. : ) Hope you enjoyed. I will do better, I promise!

Have a Fabulous weekend!

Good Concealer

Since Fall is around the corner I wanted to share a good concealer that I have used
in the past to cover blemishes. I don't know how your skin operates, but mine tends
to break out more in the colder months. If you are on the hunt for a good concealer to
cover up problem areas MAC Studio Finish is great for that.

I haven't used this stuff in a while, but got introduced to it in college when I was having
regular break outs. The lady at the MAC corner dabbed some of this Magic on my bumps
and I was sold! It is water resistant and is designed to cover blemishes, discolorations,
tattoos, and dark circles. It also has an ingredient that helps absorb your skin's oil.

I have been using Estee' Lauder Double Wear Concealer for under my eyes, but I
have also heard great things about Clinique line smoothing concealer as well.

Have a happy Monday!
