Makeup Mayfest Day Day 13

I literally just discovered my Wednesday Wish for this week and am
obsessed. How does this happen?!

I ran out to SAKS on my lunch break to buy a Bobbi Brown lipstick I have been
coveting and used from my friend Alison while beaching this past weekend.

Review to come soon on Pink Peony. It's such a pretty pink.

BUT, this post is about a wish ... not what has already been purchased.

While checking out they had their summer collection items out and I grabbed
the perfume "Beach" to take a quick sniff.

Oh, my heavens.... if anything could smell like summer and beach in a
bottle in the most classy, feminine way this is it.

I will refrain from my terrible attempts at trying to describe scents and leave you with
what the experts say.

"A light, happy, and nostalgic scent that evokes warm sunshine and the sea breeze."

This bestselling scent captures the atmosphere and attitude of summer. Designed with an intoxicating blend of jasmine, sea spray, and mandarin, this eau de parfum is wearable anytime, anywhere."

I sprayed a few mists on my arm when leaving SAKS and I haven't been
able to stop smelling my arm since being back in the office.

Seriously, go smell this stuff and tell me you don't love it!!!!

Wednesday Wishes

So, as you well know all of my Wish posts are dedicated towards beauty related
items. This week however, my eyes have gone in a different direction.

Now, no need to worry.... my beauty wishlist has not disappeared anywhere... it's
still a mile long, but there is a little something that has caught my eye that I can't seem
to quit thinking about.

I was recently introduced to the clothing designer, Ted Baker. A girl I follow on youtube
wore this dress to a red carpet event and since bright yellow and I have a serious love
affair going this little baby has caught my attention.

What I love about this dress is :

 bright yellow color
sleeves (work appropriate)
the back zipper
round neck
shorter length (b/c I'm shortie)

This dress retails for around $167 so I doubt I will be purchasing this anytime soon,
but if you feel inclined to do something special for my upcoming birthday in
June this would make a great par-tay dress!
I tease... I tease!

What do you think about this little spring number?!

Wednesday Wishes

Like I said last week.... my beauty wishlist with spring here is longer than recommended.

I could make this post never ending, but I'm going to narrow it down to one thing.

Dewy fresh skin is always flattering this time of the year and one way to
accomplish that is with cream blushes. I personally don't own a lot of cream blushes,
but it's one of those items that I would like to build up my collection.

I've heard and read great things about the Illamasqua cream blusher.

These are sold at Sephora and retail for $26.

The color I am most interested in is the bright pink color named "Laid."

Do you love cream blushes and what you pay $26 for one?!

Wednesday Wishes- MAC Foundation

Where to even start with this edition of Wednesday Wishes...
I feel like my beauty wish-list is a mile long right now.

The thing I feel the most unhappy with right now is my skin. I'm so ready to have a good
healthy tan and color!!! So, I think the thing I feel like I need most right now is a foundation
that provides good coverage, but still looks natural and like my skin.

I used MAC foundations years and years ago and got away from them, but I find myself
wanting to go back and see if we can reconnect.

I'm not sure what foundation would work best for my skin and my current needs, but
I have heard great things about two different ones that I want to give a go.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid

Described by MAC as:

A modern foundation that combines a natural matte finish and medium, buildable coverage with broad spectrum UVA/UVB SPF 15 protection. Applies, builds and blends easily and evenly. Comfortable and long-wearing, helps minimize the appearance of pores and imperfections, giving skin a smoother, more flawless look and finish.

MAC Pro Longwear

Described by MAC as:

A comfortable, long-wearing foundation that gives up to 15 hours of wear in any environmental condition. Lightweight and creamy, applies and blends easily leaving the skin feeling soft and free to breathe all day while controlling oil. Specially treated micronized pigments help give a smoother, more flawless, natural finish with stay-true colour.

Have you tried either of these foundations?!

Wednesday Wishes- Sigma Brushes

Hello Hello and Happy Hump Day!

Today's edition of Wednesday Wishes is brought to you by a cosmetic company,
Sigma who are known for their brushes. I don't own any of their brushes to date, but
have heard review after review after reveiw about how amazing they are.

There are a few specific's that I have had my eye on that I would love to
add to my collection.

First up is the F80. It is a flat top kabuki brush with synthetic bristles.
This brush is designed for buffing in liquid or cream foundation.

Retails for $18

Next up is the P80 which is basically the baby version of the brush above.
It is a small dense and flat top synthetic brush that is designed for concealer application.
I am most interested in this brush at the moment because I don't have a concealer brush. I've
heard that when applying concealer under eyes or on problem areas that if you just use
your finger to apply you can actually over blend and wipe the product away. So, this brush
is designed specifically for concealing and gives a light application to stipple on the
product and leave a good finish.

Retails for $16

The last is a group of brushes in the travel collection called Mrs. Bunny.
This is a collection of 7 travel size brushes from their best selling Essential set.
Basically, this set has every brush you could possibly need when on the go.
Kit includes:
Pencil, Tapered Blending, Eye Shading, Small Angle, Large Powder,
Large Angled Contour, and Foundation.

Aren't the colors sweet?! Love the soft pink and blue combo.

The other super cool deet about these brushes is that they come in this
innovative and functional container that turns into a brush holder to keep you
stylish and organized when traveling.

I really love this concept. We all know how digging for brushes and make up
out of a bag can be frustrating. So, how nice to have this cute little container to set on
the counter in bathroom hotel room or even at home. Makes things
so convenient.

Have you tried any Sigma brushes?

Wednesday Wishes- Dior

Today's edition of Wednesday Wishes is brought to you by
Christian Dior.

I have spent so much time researching this product and know it's a product
that I will purchase in the near future.

My attention to this product is turning borderline obsessive.

In the past year or so I have gotten into highlighting the tops of my cheekbones and noticed
what a diffence it makes in giving your skin  that healthy glow that we all want. I have
several cream and powder highlighters that I use... MAC Soft & Gentle, MAC cream
color base in pearl and shell, a couple cream/liquid from Benefit, and Physicians Formula.
They all do the job great, but I have been looking for that product that just wow's me.
For months I have heard one of my favorite YouTuber's, Tanya Burr, rave about this
being her favorite highligher. She may be that person in my life that if she told me to jump
off a cliff with her I would think about it! She is so gorgeous, has amazing skin, is a make up
artist and has the cutest British accent. So, I listen to what she has to say!

This is Amber Diamond from Dior and it comes with a hefty price tag on it for
a highligher. This retails at Sephora for $45. That's insane, right?!?! Someone tell me
I can't buy this. But, what if it really did change my highlighting world? What if it really does
give your skin that glow in the most natural way that looks like your skin and not a product?
What if the powder is so finely milled that it doesn't look shimmery and glittery on your
face, but strickly radiance? What if people stopped me in the street and said your skin
is so beautiful and glowy... what do you do?! haha. Ok, Ok... maybe taking it a bit
too far. But, let a girl dream.

So, if all these things were true then it might be worth the $45, right?! There is 10g in
the packaging so it would last a LONG time!

Should I splurge on this?! Do you think it will be that different than other
highlighters?!

Wednesday Wishes- Urban Decay

Happy Hump Day!

Sorry I've been a little mia lately. New job has made it a little harder for daily
blogging. However, I do have a Wednesday wish that I just discovered today, actually.

I'm a lover of the Urban Decay brand. I have their original Naked Palette along
with cream blush, lip and eye liners, eye priming potion and probably more.

They have just relased a new beauty goodie that has caught my attention.

I give you Naked Flushed...

I will let Sephora do the talking on this one...

What it is:
A silky bronzer, highlighter, and blush in a sleek, travel-ready compact.

What it does:
Use these pressed powders individually or blend them together to create just the right effect—and let this seemingly straight-laced trio morph into a tangled color love-fest. Then bask in the radiant glow and let people wonder what you’ve been up to. Urban Decay’s micronized, jet-milled formula has a luxe, featherlight texture that feels amazing on your skin. And the finish? Flawless. Light-diffusing particles enhance and perfect to give your skin a fresh, glowy look…even when your late-night antics have you feeling anything but. The color is intensely pigmented yet blends beautifully—and the universal shades are versatile enough for any skintone.

What else you need to know:
The bronzer is a medium bronze satin; the highlighter is a soft pink champagne shimmer; the blush is a dusty rose satin with a hint of shimmer; and they are all full-sized. It all comes in a sleek case with an easy-open magnetic closure and a big mirror that is compact enough for travel or mid-date touchups.

Retails for $30 at Sephora. Cool, right? This would be perfect for Summer travels...
having everything in one small little compact!

Have a great day,

Wednesday Wishes

I don't know about you guys, but I'm over winter. After Christmas and New Year's
I am so ready for spring/summer and the beach!

I'm feeling bright colors, tan skin, and warm weather.

So, with that said I have been taking notice of all the new spring lippies that are
coming out! I have a few that are on my wish list that I can't wait to get my hands on once
I am ready to actually wear them!

I will start with the new Clinique chubby stick intense. You may have tried the original
chubby stick that was a moisturizing color balm. I never personally bought one of these, but
did swatch them at the store. My impression was that they were not extremely pigmented and
would give a more natural look. So, I wasn't that impressed and didn't want to spend the $16
on a glorified lip balm.

BUT, now Clinique has recently released the Chubby Stick Intense moisturizing color
balm and these are a different story! I've done my research and people are loving these things.
They are highly pigmented with color and still give off the moisture you would want
with a balm. : ) yay!

The two colors that I want for spring are the Plushest Punch (raspberry pink) and the color
I am most excited about is Heftiest Hibiscus (bright coral). How pretty would that coral
be with a nude eye, some black liner, a pop of orange/coral blush and bam that bright bold
lip! I get so excited thinking about make up looks. DORK! ha.

Another lippie that I have heard great things about is in the new Maybelline Vivid Collection.
Shocking Coral is the shade that has caught my attention. I'm feeling the corals and oranges if you
can't tell for this spring/summer. Plus, I feel like brunettes with a good tan can really wear
that color well and it pops against really dark hair.

I grabbed these pictures of the internet since I don't personally own these yet.
Here is what the packaging looks like if you are interested in finding these are your local
store.

Here are four gorgeous bright pinks/corals.
Shocking coral is the 3rd from the left! It seems to be a pinky/coral that is brighter in
person than it comes off on this picture. I think if you wanted to tone it down a bit you
could add some lip balm to sheer it out.

I'm so excited for bright fun lips this spring!!! What are your favorite spring
lip colors to wear?!

Wednesday Wishes- Face Tanner

It's WEDNESDAY and you know what that means... time to find out what I
am wishing for this week.

If you know your mom ordered this for you online does it still count as a wish?!?!
Well, anyway I know this has been purchased, but it's not in my possession so it's a wish for
now and I can't WAIT to get my hands on this.

I don't know about you, but my skin is so ghostly, pasty, lifeless, insert word of choice
for winter skin and it just makes me feel so blah somedays. So, I discovered a product
that will provide a natural hint of color to my face/neck without looking too overdone in the
winter. Not only is it a liquid self tanner, but it's also by a company that prides itself in being
a European skincare leader for decades so I know I'm putting a good product with good ingredients
on my at the moment very sensitive skin. :) WIN, WIN!

                             clarins

    Liquid Bronze Self Tanning

What it is:
A refreshing, lightweight milky self-tanning lotion.

What it is formulated to do:
This refreshing, lightweight milk-lotion provides an easy, fast way to develop a natural-looking, bronzed effect for the face and décolleté.

What else you need to know:
This product is allergy tested and non comedogenic.

I love that it is described as being a "lightweight milky lotion." That just makes me want to
put it on my skin during a dry season. I think self tanners especially on your face can often
make your skin look more dry, so it's nice to know that this tanner is so moisturizing.

I have read a lot of reviews on this and it seems to be a subtle tanner so if you have a bit
of a tan going on then this may not be the product for you. However, if you are like me I have
zero tan right now and want something that is very natural looking and will give my skin a
healthy glow and color.

This bottle is specifically formulated for the face/decollete area so I don't know how effective
it would be if you tried to put on your arms or legs. This tanner retails at Sephora for
$34 for a 4.2 oz bottle.

Does this self tanner interest you?!

Wednesday Wishes- Revlon Kissable Balm Stains

Happy Happy Hump Day!!

Ok, so this post is going to be super short b/c I'm about to head out the
door to see the family for Turkey day, but I wanted to share my latest OBSESSION.

This is going to be more of a teaser post and more to come later, but guys I can't even
tell you how in love and sold I am on these kissable stains by Revlon. They are the most
exciting beauty product I have tried ALL YEAR!!! All year people... that is huge!

I have bought 3 shades in:
Honey, Smitten, and Adore, but there are about 5 more that I want in my
possession.

They are EXACTLY just what they say they are. A balm that is moisturizing that sets
on your lips and leaves a stain that lasts ALL day. I'm not kidding... all day long. To the point
where you need to scrub it off at night.

I'm not a chapstick/balm kind of girl... I'm a lipstick/color girl. I can't stand not having
lipstick on. I feel like my make-up is just incomplete.
If you are like me on that you will LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these!!!

I'm so excited!!!
Ok, so more to come later on my shades and other deets.

Have a HAPPY Thanksgiving!

Wednesday Wishes

Happy Hump Day!

Can you believe next week is Thanksgiving?!?!?! Where oh where has this year gone?
Sheesh Louise I can't get over how fast time just keep flying by.

My beauty wish list item this week is...
NARS Concealer. I'm a huge fan of NARS laguna bronzer along with a few of their
blushes (orgasm, and sin). I have heard amazing things about their creamy concealer and how
well it cover blemishes, dark spots, etc. My face has gone a little cray cray lately with
break outs so this could really come in handy right now!

Here is what Sephora has to say about NARS Concealer

NARS - Concealer

                                         nars
A lightweight, creamy, long-wearing concealer.

What it does:
NARS Concealer brilliantly obscures imperfections and dark spots with a creamy, vitamin-rich formula that nourishes the skin. Its long-wearing, crease-resistant, and ultra-light yet opaque formula ensures a flawless finish.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Fragrances
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan

What else you need to know:
This product may be used alone or over foundation.

Research results:
-97% agree that the Concealer has a smooth texture and felt soft on the skin
-93% agree that the Concealer stays in place all day
-90% agree that the Concealer blends easily

Size: 0.07 oz

This concealer retails for $22 so it is on the pricy side, but I bet it would last for
a long time depending on how much you use.

Have you tried any NARS products? Would you buy this concealer?

Wednesday Wishes

Happy Hump Day!
Half way through this week... : )

I feel like I have talked a lot about skincare lately, but if you are anything like me
your skin just goes a little bonkers in fall/winter months. Whether it's breakouts or just dry
flaky skin this time of the year can be rough for a girls outer layer!

I haven't heard about this brand at all until recently and after reading reviews it's going to
have to be a must have for me this winter. Put it on your Christmas wish lists b/c this one
looks like a goodie!

I feel like most of us are pretty good about exfoliating our face on a somewhat regular basis,
but often neglect our body. This seems like such a great routine for healthy glowing skin
this upcoming winter!

Step 1:

Soap & Glory - The Scrub Of Your Life™

Soap & Glory The Scrub of Your Life

What it is:
A super-smoothing body buffer.

What it does:
Use this buffer to smooth the body, from rough elbows and dry shins to the backs of your arms. Its alluring scent of Soap & Glory's signature Pink Fragrance combines fresh bergamot and mandarin, rose, jasmine, peach, strawberry, oakmoss, amber, woody notes and warm vanilla musk, amber, and warm vanilla notes on the bottom.

The scrub is $16 and is sold at Sephora.

Step 2:

Soap & Glory - The Righteous Body Butter

Soap & Glory The Righteous Body Butter

What it is:
An award-winning body moisturizing butter with softening shea butter and aloe vera.

What it does:
This body butter was formulated for very dry skin with a new dynamic moisture trap matrix to help hold hydration in longer. Its alluring scent of Soap & Glory's signature Pink Fragrance combines fresh bergamot and mandarin, rose, jasmine, peach, strawberry, oakmoss, amber, woody notes and amber and warm vanilla notes on the bottom.

The Body Butter retails for $18 for 10.1 oz

How cute is the packaging?! I'm curious to get into Sephora and actually feel the texture of the
body butter. I am so particular about lotions and creams. I can't stand anything that feels
too thick. I want something that is light weight, buttery, and will melt into my skin. I
hate having to rub and rub a chalky white lotion into my skin. If I grab this I will for
sure keep you updated with some reviews!

Have a great day!

Wednesday Wishes

Happy Hump Day!!!

I'm very excited to bring you my second edition of Wednesday Wishes and the
items I wish to have in my collection.

Today's product is something I just recently heard about, but am so fascinated with
the concept.

Most of us girls love a good lip gloss, right? But, what's the most frustrating thing
about glosses??? If you're like me you would say how quickly they come off. Normally after
a sip or two of my drink or talking for a little while and it's gone. Who wants to just keep applying
lip gloss all day long?? Not me.

So, an alternative to gloss is a lip stain. A stain is going to stay on your lips for a long period
of time, not rub off, and give your lips a natural hint of color that stays through drinks, eating,
and whatever else you are doing with them lips! : )

Ok, so what if there was a product that combined both of the benefits we like from a gloss
and a stain? Glossy lips with the lasting power of a stain?!

I bring you... YSL Glossy Stain.

I'm going to let Sephora tell you more about why this products sounds like a winner:

yves-saint-laurent

                                                ROUGE PUR COUTURE
                                                 Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain

What it is:
A revolutionary new lip product that combines the texture and shine of a gloss with the long-wear of a stain.

What it does:
Coat your lips with this lip color that offers a lightweight texture, which immediately melts onto lips. Glossy Stain delivers intense glossy color for an extremely long-lasting shine.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan

What else you need to know:
The applicator's unique slanted tip and short soft bristles allow for flawless application with perfect precision.

Does this excite you as much as it does me?! The only thing that makes this product hard to buy
is the price tag. It's retails at Sephora for $32 for a .20 oz container. WOWZA!!! $32 for
lip gloss?!?! That's more than my foundation! So, obviously this would be a special splurge
product. Maybe a stocking stuffer, birthday surprise, or a very special treat for yourself.
I love a good treat. : )

YSL is a very expensive brand at Sephora, but they really are known for their lip products.

Would you splurge on this product?!?!

Wednesday Wishes- Skincare

I know I have mentioned this before, but my skin tends to need some serious 911
in fall/winter months. I don't know why, but my skin tends to break out so much more this
time of the year. Maybe it's the lack of sunshine... or maybe it's me and my diet.

But, there are a few products on my wish list for new skin care products that I want to
try out and see how my skin responds to.

As far washes there are two:

Bioderma is a French product that is mostly sold in Europe, but you can buy
it on Amazon. It is a very mild non rinse face and eye cleaner. It doesn't require
water and you just use a few cotton balls to clean all the make up off your face.

I'm heard many great things about this product and the benefits it has of clearing up
break outs as well as maintaining clear skin.

Retails for $26 for the largest bottle.

Fresh is a brand that is sold at Sephora and is known for several bestselling products.
One of them being the Soy Face Cleanser. It is rich in amino acids, soy proteins promoting
moisture retention, elasticity, and firmness. It is fragrance free and soap free.

It's a very gentle cleanser which can be really good for calming skin that is
broken out.

My mom has used this wash for a while now and really likes it.
This baby is a goodie. Ole Henriksen is another line sold at Sephora. Their Invigorating
night gel is described as a lightweight gel that stimulates cell turnover, exposing a younger firmer
looking complexion. A soothing moisture barrier instantly seals in essential vitamins and
minerals.

I used this product last year and really enjoyed it. It not only provides ingredients to fight
aging, but also has ingredients that help fight against break outs. This gel does sting just
a little when applied, but it's a good sting because cell turnover is working.

So, who wants to buy me these things and have it shipped to my door?!?!

Wednesday Wishes- Hair Mask

I thought I would start doing posts on Wednesday's with things that are on my beauty wish-list.
My beauty wish-list is growing all the time so I thought this would be a good way
to share things that are on my radar and I've done some research on.

My hair has gotten really really long and the ends are looking a little fried these days.
I need to get a good trim, but I keep putting it off. I don't put a lot of product or heat in my
hair. Since the spring I have been wearing my hair wavy/curly with minimal drying with a
diffuser.

My hair type is more dry/coarse. So, I thought this would be a nice addition in my
shower for the occasional treat/pamper.

What this product claims to do:
"L'Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Masque is designed to intensely nourish and replenish the hair, for a glossy-looking result.

The formula is enriched with special oil blends - argan, avocado, cottonseed and grapeseed."

 Directions for use:
"Apply L'Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Masque and work into shampooed and towel dried hair. Leave on for up to 3 minutes. Rinse."

From what I can tell by searching online for this product it may be somewhat of a challenge
locating this in a store. But, online it seems to be retailing for $25.

I think this is something my hair would thank me for in the winter. My hair is in
some serious need of pampering as I have not been getting it cut on any kind of regular basis.

Have you ever used a hair mask? How did you like it?
