Wednesday Wishes

I don't know about you guys, but I'm over winter. After Christmas and New Year's
I am so ready for spring/summer and the beach!

I'm feeling bright colors, tan skin, and warm weather.

So, with that said I have been taking notice of all the new spring lippies that are
coming out! I have a few that are on my wish list that I can't wait to get my hands on once
I am ready to actually wear them!

I will start with the new Clinique chubby stick intense. You may have tried the original
chubby stick that was a moisturizing color balm. I never personally bought one of these, but
did swatch them at the store. My impression was that they were not extremely pigmented and
would give a more natural look. So, I wasn't that impressed and didn't want to spend the $16
on a glorified lip balm.

BUT, now Clinique has recently released the Chubby Stick Intense moisturizing color
balm and these are a different story! I've done my research and people are loving these things.
They are highly pigmented with color and still give off the moisture you would want
with a balm. : ) yay!

The two colors that I want for spring are the Plushest Punch (raspberry pink) and the color
I am most excited about is Heftiest Hibiscus (bright coral). How pretty would that coral
be with a nude eye, some black liner, a pop of orange/coral blush and bam that bright bold
lip! I get so excited thinking about make up looks. DORK! ha.

Another lippie that I have heard great things about is in the new Maybelline Vivid Collection.
Shocking Coral is the shade that has caught my attention. I'm feeling the corals and oranges if you
can't tell for this spring/summer. Plus, I feel like brunettes with a good tan can really wear
that color well and it pops against really dark hair.

I grabbed these pictures of the internet since I don't personally own these yet.
Here is what the packaging looks like if you are interested in finding these are your local
store.

Here are four gorgeous bright pinks/corals.
Shocking coral is the 3rd from the left! It seems to be a pinky/coral that is brighter in
person than it comes off on this picture. I think if you wanted to tone it down a bit you
could add some lip balm to sheer it out.

I'm so excited for bright fun lips this spring!!! What are your favorite spring
lip colors to wear?!

Christmas Reveals

A product I have been getting a lot of use out of these cold months is my new:
Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning for my face/neck.

This is a very subtle face tanner that moisturizes your skin while leaving a soft
touch of color. It's lightweight and has a little bit of a tan smell. I have been applying
this at night before bed and then have a nice healthy glow when I wake up.

If you are looking for a dark beach kind of tan this is not the product for you. You can tell a difference
and the product is build able... so the more layers you apply and if you chose to apply every
night you are going to get more color. But, this is designed to be a natural healthy looking
color for your face!

This retails at Sephora for $32. It's a great pick me up product when you are feeling
a little Casper like.

What tanners do you enjoy using?

POTD- Mascara

I recently bought a new mascara that has instantly become the best mascara I have
used in a year. I heard great review after great review after great review on this mascara,
but just never picked it up until recently.

Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume is seriously the best drugstore mascara for making my
lashes super thick, and voluminous. One coat could be enough for a more natural look,
but with 2 or 3 coats my lashes are like BAM!

The brush is very large and has a rubber like brush that reminds me a lot of the
Benefit They're Real mascara brush.

Covergirl Lashblast can be found at your local drugstore and retails for around
$7.

I'm in the market for a new eyelash curler. Leave me a comment with what
you currently use and if you like it!

Product of the Day- Color Tattoo

Happy Friday People! We made it or are slowly making it to the weekend.

Today's POTD is a new Maybelline Color Tattoo I picked up at Ulta
this week. They were featuring a BOGO on several new items so I bought this along
with my new Loreal Glossy Stain.

If you read my blog regularly you know that I love this product. I believe this is the 7th or
8th one I have bought. They are a great cream base for your eyeshadow. Some of the darker
shades can be worn alone for just a sweep of color, but with the lighter shades I prefer
to use them as a primer. I apply with my fingers and then apply a powder shadow over
for fantastic color and lasting power!

The shade I was specifically looking for "Inked in Pink" was in their promotional
basket. YAY! Love when that happens. I had read a review on this color and
knew it was something I would get a lot of use out of.

"Inked in Pink" is a soft pearl champagne pink. It is very light and natural and works
well with a variety of colors.

This week I have been applying the color tattoo as my base and then placing Loreal Amber
Rush over lid and then using a matte medium brown in my crease/corner. But, with this light
pink color you could use any shade of brown or purples or light beige colors.
It's just a very functional pink.

(Here's a free FOTD with my eye look)
(Side note... on lips is the new Loreal Glossy Stain... still loving that)

Out of all my Maybelline Color Tattoos this is currently my fave. I've said before there
are colors that are so yummy I want to eat and this is one of those! It's just such a pretty girlie
feminine pink.

I have a feeling "Inked in Pink" is going to become a staple in my routine especially
with spring and summer around the corner! It will be a great shade for those months!

Have a great weekend and let me know what you think about this review!

Christmas Reveals Day 3

I'm back with another post about some beauty goodies I got for Christmas.

I was no stranger to the Ole Henriksen skincare line since I had tried their 3 little wonders
set a couple years ago.

Sephora's description on the brand is this:

Nature, science, beauty, and wellness. These four key elements are behind every Ole Henriksen product, making it a total lifestyle line and a true depiction of the man behind the brand. Ole (pronounced "ooh-lah") Henriksen's studies in cosmetic chemistry, and hands-on experience treating some of Hollywood's most famous complexions at his Los Angeles spa, have resulted in the ultimate in at-home luxury—skincare that treats the face and body while helping to achieve overall health and wellness. What we love most? Just like his sought-after spa treatments, every Ole Henriksen product is an absolute treat for the senses—they smell delicious and feel sensational.

Two of the products that I loved from set I asked for this year for Christmas are
the Sheer Transformation, and Invigorating Night Gel.

These retail each at Sephora for $45. A little steep for moisturizer and gel, but that's why
I put it on my Wishlist.

The Sheer transformation is absolutely the most silky moisturizer I've ever felt or put
on my face. It literally melts right into your skin like butter. It's amazing! My skin feels
refreshed after I use it. No oily or greasy like other moisturizers may leave you feeling... just
very clean, fresh, and light! LOVE!

The invigorating night gel is a really unique product in that it not only works towards vanishing
fine lines and wrinkles, but also has ingredients that work towards diminishing break outs
and dark spots. This little baby is also packed with vitamins and minerals.

These both get great reviews as they should for the price tag, but I can tell a difference
in my skin when I use these on a regular basis.

For my detailed information go to Sephora.com.
I would definitely repurchase either one of these.

Have you tried this brand before?

First Impression- Loreal Glossy Stain

 Happy Hump Day!

I haven't finished my Christmas reveals, but wanted to do a quick post today on my
"First Impression" of the newly released Loreal Colour Riche Caresse Aqua Lacquer Lipgloss
Stain. That was a mouthful, huh?!

So, quick product description: These are a dupe for the expensive YSL glossy stains
that are sold at Sephora for $32. I did a Wednesday Wishes post back in the fall for wanting
that product, but I never splurged due to the price tag.
Loreal just released their version of a glossy stain and the concept is just how it reads...
a lip gloss that will stain your lips.

Here is the packaging of the gloss. It's really nice and somewhat fancy feeling with it being all gold.

Here is a swatch of the color I chose:
"Rose On and On" which is a natural and sheer peachy/rose color.

A great everyday natural shade.

And here you have it on my lips today!
I personally really like the shade for a soft natural look being at work and not wanting
anything too terribly flashy.

Overall thoughts and first impression of product:
I've used this a total of one whole day and was really impressed despite all the negative
reviews I read. Did my lips look glossy all day long? No. Did I have a stain all day long?
HECK to the YES, people! I applied this gloss yesterday morning around 8am and
still had a color on my lips last night at 11pm before I got in bed! I don't know about you,
but that is pretty darn impressive in my opinion!

The overall feel of this product is a little more dry and a tad sticky at times, but nothing
terrible. I felt like throughout the day I still had a little shine that set it apart from just
a stain.

I love long lasting products, especially lips! I am not just a chap stick kind of gal, so for
me this product is great just due to the staying and lasting power. I love not having a lip
product rub off after a few conversations at work or drinking a few sips of coffee.

My overall rating of this gloss after my first impression is:
A-
staying power... excellent
color pigmentation... great
price... great
glossy... ok

What do you think? Would you try this new Loreal glossy stain?

Christmas Reveals Day 2

Another beauty goodie Santa brought this year was the highly
sought after Lorac Pro Palette.

After hearing review after review on how pigmented, creamy, and wonderful this palette
was on top of great everyday neutral colors and a row of matte and row of shimmer
shadows I was pretty much convinced.

So, without further ado I give you my newest palette love...

If you are familiar with Nars packaging then you will probably notice that the Pro palette
is packaged much the same way. It's case is a black rubbery texture that has a smooth matte finish,
but on the down side does attract fingerprints and dirt. Other than that I like the packaging.
It's extremely thin. Much thinner than either of the Naked palettes by Urban Decay.

Picture above is with the flash so you can see the shimmer shades on the bottom stand out a
little better.

As you can see there are 16 total shades. 8 matte shades on the top and 8 shimmery shades
on the bottom.

Some may look at this and just think it's just another neutral palette. Nothing that special to
it. But, I would beg to differ. I feel like there is so much that can be done with a palette
with both matte and neutral shades. Most people want to combine the two. When in a hurry and
on the go or traveling this palette makes things easy. Everything you need for a light
natural eye or a dark smokey look is here along with a matte black eyeliner.

Lorac Pro retails at Sephora or Ulta for $42.

Sephora's description is:

What it is:
A professional palette featuring 16 ultra-pigmented eye shadows infused with soothing botanicals and a mini Behind The Scenes Eye Primer for stay-true color that lasts.

What it does:
Created by celebrity makeup artist Carol Shaw, this PRO artistry palette is packed with eight shimmer and eight matte eye shadows in all the shades you need to create the hottest looks straight from the red carpet. LORAC’S velvety smooth shadows are infused with soothing botanicals and are ultra-pigmented to perform wet or dry so you can shade, shadow, line, and define your eyes, just like a pro. With 16 shadows to contour, line, define, and create any look you desire, you have everything you need for your eyes and brows in one sleek palette!

What do you think about the Lorac Pro Palette? Would you purchase this?

Christmas Reveals Day 1

I'm back... for a quick post on some beauty goodies I got over Christmas.
I'm going to try to blog on Christmas items over the next few days, but bare with me as I
am starting a new job tomorrow and things are going to get crazy busy.

Today's item is a skincare product by Fresh that I had requested.

The Soy Face Cleanser is a product I had been familiar with since my mom used this
wash some last year. I tried it a few times and was impressed by how gentle it was and left my skin
feeling so soft and moisturized and super clean.

After hearing one of my favorite Youtube Beauty Guru's do a skincare routine video and this
wash was apart of her daily routine I added it to my Beauty Christmas Wishlist.

I have been using it since Christmas and absolutely love! A small dab goes a long way. It lathers
well and again leaves my skin feeling wonderful after finishing.

This is the number one cleanser sold at Sephora and retails there for $38 in the 5.1 oz
bottle that I have.

Sephora's description of this wash:

What it is:
A multitasking gel that gently removes impurities and makeup.

What it is formulated to do:
The Soy Face Cleanser from Fresh instantly whisks away everyday impurities and makeup—even mascara—without stripping the skin of essential moisture. Rich in amino acids, soy proteins promote moisture retention, elasticity, and firmness. Rosewater balances and tones the skin. Fragrance-free and soap-free, calming cucumber extract and nourishing borage seed oil enriches its formula.

There are few washes that I try and just instantly love and can tell a big difference in. Most washes
do about the same thing for your skin. However, this cleaner is different. It is one that stands out
and my skin thanks me for after using. Love this and it will definitely be a repurchase.

Have you tried the Fresh line?!

New Year's FOTD

Happy 2013 Everyone!!!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a great start to your new year. I'm sorry I
have been so MIA on my blog, but with the holidays plus walking pnemonia plus the flu
made for a sickly girl and I have just been trying to rest and get back to normal.

I was very pleased with the way my make up turned out for NYE and thought
I would start the new year off with a FOTD post. Matt and I went out to dinner with a group
of friends and then off to a wedding reception party downtown. If you could have seen us
a couple hours before getting fixed up you would have said there is NO WAY those
people look or feel like going out. Still fighting the flu plus moving M in the rain all day made
for a sad pair. But, we got tough and actually had a great night. We headed out right after 12...
no time for fun... we needed our rest!

Anyway, here was my look for New Year's Eve:

Foundation: Clinique Even Better
Concealer: Revlon Photoready stick
Bronzer: Chanel Soleil Tan De
Blush: Lorac Velvet Rope
Highlighter: MAC Pearl Cream Color Base
Highlighter: MAC Soft & Gentle (powder over cream)
Eye Primer: NYX HD base
Eye Shadow: Revlon Photoready quad in Precocious
EyeLiner: Loreal Gel in Blackest Black (top)
Urban Decay Rockstar (bottom)
Mascara: Benefit They're Real
Lips: Revlon Colorburst Gloss in Bordeaux

Other beauty deets: if you can notice I have a touch of bronze
to my skin thanks to St. Tropez bronzing moose. I applied an hour
before leaving an just like that... COLOR! Love this stuff.

The thing I was trying to achieve with this look was:

A really good glow and color with highlighted skin and
and eye look that had a good shimmery purple to match my plum dress. I also wanted
a bolder lip. Here are a few of the key products that made this look.

Sparkly jewels compliments of Cache'

And New Year's kiss compliments of Mattie... ;)

I hope you had a great New Year's and have lots of plans, goals, and new perspectives for
your 2013!!
