Friday Face of the Day

Happy Friday and start to your weekend.

It's been a lonnnnng time since I've done a FOTD post and since I seem to be on a blog
roll this week I thought I would post my latest look.

I didn't take a picture of the products used in this look... so if you want to see what they look
like just google them to get a better idea.

My favorite part of this look is for sure the eyes. I don't think this picture does justice to the
Wet n Wild "Silent Treatment" trio. I love the lid color in this palette so very much. It's a gorgeous
plum/purple taupe with a silver undertone that is a very unique color on it's own. I added the dark brown crease color on the outer edge of my eye and put the peach highlighter color under my brow.

The price of the Wet N Wild Silent Treatment trio is a whopping $2.99 at your local drugstore and
I cannot stress how incredible these shades are for the price. I can be really hesitant of cheap products
and their payoff b/c often you get what you pay for. However, Wet n Wild really does have very
good formulated, well pigmented, and lasting eyeshadows!! This is by far my favorite trio and shades
by them b/c it really is so unique and works well with my dark eyes and hair. But, the purple
taupe shade will work well with any skin/eye color. Go buy it.... NOW!! You will love it.

Ok, so on to the origins of my face.

Foundation: Clinique Stay Matte
Concealer: Estee Lauder Double Wear
Blush: Lorac Velvet Rope (great matte baked blush for fall or year round)
Highlighter: MAC Soft & Gentle
Eyes: Wet n Wild Silent Treatment
Liner: Urban Decay Zero (black)
Mascara: Almay Get up & Grow
Lips: NYX Beige gloss

Have a wonderful weekend!

June Faves

Haaaay Haaaay.

I am so pushing myself to do this post b/c blogging has been the furthest thing on my mind
lately. I moved into a new apartment a week ago and I have been so busy trying to get
settled and make my new place feel like home. I also got rid of all my old yucky college and post college furniture and decided to start over and it seems like all my time has been devoted to
craigslist and consignment shops and figuring out how I want to decorate.

I am planning to do a Home Decor post once I get everything in it's place and show you guys
some things I have bought and how I am decorating... or trying to. ha!

Onto beauty goodness and the things that I used a lot in the month of June. Honestly, I don't
have a ton to feature as make-up was really not on my mind at all last month.

But, a few things I have been enjoying are...

Clinque came out with a new "stay matte" foundation this summer that is oil free
and designed to control shine, oil, sweat and all the things we experience in the summer
heat.

If you have combination to oily skin then this is a perfect formula for you! I have really
loved wearing this foundation. I feel like it has a great formula that is not too thick or too matte
where your skin looks kind of cakey. The other thing I like is that a little dab goes a long way.

I typically use a buffing brush to work my foundation in, but with this I have just been applying
with my fingers and rubbing it in quickly so it doesn't dry too fast b/c it is a matte formula.

I love it. Would definitely repurchase.

I have had this Wet n Wild "Comfort Zone" palette for quiet a while now, but
just recently started using it on a daily basis. I absolutely love the left side.  As you can tell
I have hit pan on that third color down (darker bronze). I have loved using that dark bronze color
all over my lid for a smoky brown look with a black liner. Very pretty!

For a more natural soft look I like using the second color on left side that is labeled eyelid
on the lid of my eye and using the darker bronze in my crease.

Wet n Wild is super duber cheap and sold at most drugstores and I used to think their products
couldn't be any good b/c of the price, but I have been SO very impressed with their shadows.
That is really the only thing I have tried, but I love this palette along with the "Silent Treatment"
trio. It's a gorgeous lilac/taupe with a dark brown.

Not going to say much about this blush. I have mentioned it several times on here. It's Lorac
baked blush in shade Velvet Rope. It's just a gorgeous dusty rose color and it gives off a lot
of pigmentation b/c of being baked. I used this color a lot last month and found it looked
really nice with a bit of a tan.

Last year I bought a set from Mally on QVC. Mally is a celebrity make up artist and has her own
line that she sells on QVC and her website. I had quit using this mascara for a while, but came back
to it and really do love the formula and volume and length this baby gives. It's a more dry
formula which I prefer b/c I find the wetter mascaras clump, smear, and are just in general more messy.
If you are wanting to try out a new mascara along with some of her other products then I would check
out her website. She has some awesome sets where you can try out several things and it's very
affordable.

I cannot believe it is already July!!!! Where is this year going?! Sheesh Louise.

Hope to be back soon....
I am so tired of furniture shopping!!!!!

Friday Face of the Day

TGIF!!!

I wanted to start doing some posts featuring MY face (just for you Val) along with
the products that I used for that look. Friday seems like a puuuurfect day to do this.

I'm always fond of neutral looks, but lately it's really been my go to. Neutral eyes, cheeks, lips
the whole nine yards. I have a few new products that I haven't had the chance
to talk about and feature so I am going to do that today.

So, here's my face.... oooooo, ahhhhh.

May not be the best lighting for actually seeing the color of products, but
I decided to do this last night and had no natural light. Sorry!

So, here are most of the products I used. Forgot my mascara and
Revlon lip butter. ooops!

Foundation: Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hour (sample I am trying)
Bronzer: Nars Laguna
Highlighting: MAC skinfinish in Soft & Gentle (powder)
Highlighting: MAC cream color base in Shell (cream)
Blush: MAC Gingerly
Eyes: Wet n Wild Silent Treatment
Mascara: Mally Volumizing
Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in Peach Parfait

New Product Alert!!
I think I have talked about how my new favorite thing in my
make-up routine is highlighting my cheekbones. If you want an easy step
to make your skin look fresh, healthy, glowy, and luminious then highlighting is where you
need to be. : )

This is a new product I bought this week and have been eyeballing it for a long time.
This is MAC skinfinish in the shade Soft and Gentle. As you can see it's a brown/pink
powder that has shimmer to it when applied to your face that just gives a very
healthy glow to your skin. LOVE it!! I'm obsessed with using it.

Retails for $29. Seems a bit pricy, but seriously I think this will last me a lifetime!

New Product Alert!!
Another highlighting product from MAC. Again, have had my eye on this
cream color base for quite some time in the shade Shell.

This is a cream product that can be applied under or over foundation with a brush
or fingers to the top of your cheekbones for a little healthy shine.

This color is a light neutral pink with a little shimmer and retails for $17.50.

New Product Alert!!
Yes, I know... I've gotten a little carried away lately.

This is MAC blush in the color Gingerly. This is not really a shade I would have
gravitated to on my own, but was named a top product of 2011 by the lovely
Amarixe on Youtube. I cannot even begin to express how obsessed I have been with
this blush. She was spot on when she said it is the perfect every day blush that
warms up your cheeks and gives a healthy look.

It looks a little scary orange in the pan, but it is a gorgeous terracotta warm coral
shade that retails for $20.00

When I googled images of this blush... look who I found!!

Awwww snap Ya'll. Article said MAC gingerly is one of Kim K favorite
blush! Makes me love it even more now! Ha.

I recently did a post about how I love the new Revlon lip butters and if you haven't
tried them you should really get your hands on a few. They are so pigmented and
moisturizing.

I finished my look off with the shade on the far left which is my favorite for every day.
Peach Parfait is the shade and it's a lovely peachy/coral shade with a bit of
shimmer.

Hope you enjoyed this post and it was somewhat informative and you have
a GREAT weekend!

Weekend Rewind. What's in my Bag?

Well, Well, Well.... who decided to do some make-up shopping this
weekend and actually post about it??!!

This Girl!!

I actually haven't been buying many new things, but there have been a few drug-store
products on my radar for the past month and wanted to share with you guys.

Maybelline recently came out with a product called "Color Tattoo" that is
getting a lot of buzz. They are a cream shadow that can be used as a base or
be worn on their own. They claim to last 24 hours.

MAC has a product similar to this called "Paint pots." They are highly buzzed about
products that beauty gurus love. They are in a pot just like these above and are used as
an eye-shadow primer. They retail for $17.50 while the Maybelline Color Tattoo
are $5.84!

The colors I got are from left to right: Too Cool, Tough as Taupe, and Pomegranate
Punk. I cannot wait to use the Tough as Taupe shade... this was the color I was so interested
in b/c is is a matte gray/taupe. You don't see that very often.

Even though I wasn't planning to coordinate the colors I think all 3 shades would be
great together. You could wear the Tough as Taupe on your lid, Pomegranate in your
crease, and Too Cool under your brow as a highlight.

Next item on my list was the also new buzzed about Maybelline Bouncy blushes.

Shades I purchased left to right are Hot Tamale and Coffee Cake.

These seem to be pretty sheer in coverage... so, while that Hot Tamale color looks really
bright and scary it's actually not that bright. I think it will be a great color for
spring/summer when you have some tan going on.

The coolest thing about these blushes is the texture!! When the claim to "Bouncy"
they really are. When you press down on the product it almost becomes like
memory foam and creates an indention.

It has a very lightweight texture that feels like a powder, but apparently melts on
your skin more like a cream to give you that radiant glow.

So, the Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush wasn't really on
my list, but I have heard good things about this....SO.... yeah, it got thrown in the
basket.

This color is called "Warm" and I think it's so pretty because you get all shades of
coral.

These blushes don't really promise to give you a ton of color, but more of a healthy glow.
There are also pearls infused into the product to highlight and add radiance to the skin.
So, on days when you just want to feel/look more natural this is a good go to.

I think it's funny that they market it as a "mood boosting blush." Really? Can a blush
boost your mood??!! Who knows? I will let you know if I am floating around on Cloud 9
when wearing this. But, for some reason I'm not really counting on it.

So, Wet n Wild is not a product I would reach for on my own. I always felt like
their stuff was not worth buying b/c it's so cheap. Snobby, right? I always
feel like price=quality. Sometimes it is, but not always. A girl I watch on youtube, that is
a news anchor in morning, but beauty guru by afternoon really promotes and favorites
some of Wet n Wild's eyeshadow palettes. She recently did a favorite eye products of
2011 and this palette in "Silent Treatment" made her list.

The shades really are gorgeous. I love the bottom taupe shade!! This was under $3
so you can't go wrong trying it!

Ok, so YAY for me doing a Weekend Rewind post, right?! Hope some of these products
peek your interest. They certainly have mine.

Have a great day!
