Makeup Mayfest~ Day 1

I have decided to set a pretty bold goal for myself during the month of May.
You ready for this?!

I am planning to blog every day Monday-Friday during the month of May for a segment of my own
called "Makeup Mayfest." I thought it would be a fun little challenge for myself
to provide reviews, looks, opinions, and products!!!

Now, don't judge me because I have clearly already failed since today is May 2nd.
But, does it count that I really planned on posting this yesterday?!?!
Probably not. I'm pretty laid back about stuff so don't get your panties in a wad if I miss
a day here or there... I may try to double up, but we shall see. Anywhoo, the "GOAL" is
to post something every day. It will not always be makeup related... it may be fashion
related, random nuggets on my life, spiritual stuff, etc.

So, here we go. What better way to start Makeup Mayfest than
with a NOTD post.

You people love some nail polish.

I posted this picture last night on Instagram. (follow me if you aren't already)
Love me some Butter London polishes. They come with a hefty price tag ($14 a bottle)
but they are a great nail treat when you want something luxurious.

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that they are drastically superior to any other
polish, but what I will tell you that I like about their polishes is the way they apply.
The brush is really thin and the polish has a more watery base in my opinion. Something
about the texture of their polishes make applying this to your nails so much easier to me.
It's like the polish just glides on without you having to be too super careful and focused
on getting too much product and then it globbing up.

This color is in "Smog" and it's a gorgeous hot pink. Butter polishes can be found at Ulta
or on their website. Since they are so pricy the colors I have bought from them are
staple colors that aren't trendy. Colors that I know I will always want to use no matter
what the current nail trends are.

Have you tried any Butter polishes?!
And please tell me you're excited about Makeup Mayfest!!!! : )

Weekend Rewind, What's in my Bag?

Hey Everyone. I hope you had a great weekend. I grabbed a few things
this weekend beauty related and wanted to pass along.

I've been curious about the Loreal 360 clean cleanser with the
exfoliating and pore cleansing sponger for a while now.

I decided to try it out this weekend and see if it's something that may be a skin care
staple.

I love the packaging and how the pore cleansing sponge pops in and out of
the bottle. The sponge is really fun to use. It's got a nice soft texture and makes for a fun
experience to cleanse... you really feel like you are giving your skin a better and deeper cleanse.

Retails for around $6.

I needed a new base and top coat polish and have heard great things about the
Revlon Colorstay line and how long lasting and glossy these polishes give
your nails. I did use on Friday night and was impressed.

These retail for around $7, but Revlon usually has buy one get one 50% off.

MORE MAKE-UP WIPES!!! You guys know how much I love my wipes. I am
almost out of my Burt's Bee wipes and decided to go back to the Yes to Cucumbers. I have
used these several times and love how gentle they are and the cucumber fresh smell they have.

So, that's what was in my bag this weekend, what did you pick up?!

Tuesday Trends

In honor of the month of love and Valentines I went ahead and painted my
nails a sassy sexy red! I love red nails. LOVE them. I've done a post before
on how that can literally transform my mood and personality.

Mom got me a couple Butter London polishes that I had requested for
Christmas and one of them is this gorgeous red called
"Come to bed Red."
Sassssssssssssyyy!!!

These polishes are sold at Ulta and retails for $14. Yikes, I know... a lot
for a bottle of nail polish. I do really like the way they apply... I feel like it's
more watery which makes it kind of glide on easy without getting too thick.

But, all in all probably not worth $14 unless someone is getting them as a gift
for you as a special treat.

Nail swatch.

BAM!! Sassiness.

Happy February!!

Tuesday Trends

Have you guys seen this nail trend?

You take one nail and paint it a darker shade than the rest of your nails. I decided
to give this a try last week and I'm not really sure how I feel about it.

I've gotten mixed feedback from friends, but mostly negative. One of my guy
friends called it creepy. ha. I was feeling all edgy and cool trying something different,
but like Alison said maybe it's just not the right color combo.

Anyway, just thought I would share. If you are interested in either of these shades
the taupe/grey color is Essie "Chinchilly" and the ring finger is Essie "Over the Edge".

Have a great day!

Friday Fall Faves

So, I thought I would do a Friday Product Fave centered all around nail polishes!!

I am not a huge fan of fall like some people are... I enjoy certain things for sure, but
my most FAVORITE thing about fall is probably the nail polish shades. I love
painting my nails in darker funkier shades. I feel like nail polish is a trend
anyone can follow and feel good about!

So, I have picked several shades that I own and love or that are apart of the
Fall 2011 collections that I like this year!

I have provided a link to each polish to where you can purchase online. Just
simply click the name under the polish and it will direct you to a site where
you can purchase. :)

So, there you go... aren't these shades so pretty?! I love them all! I hope you will enjoy
experimenting with colors as much as I do this Fall!

Happy Weekend!

Zoya Polish

So, I feel like I have been doing a lot of posts on nail polish lately.

But, alas I have yet another to share!!

This is what is currently on my nails at the moment.

Zoya Polish in the color "Caitlin."
It's a smokey purple with a hint of gray.

One of my girlfriends in Birmingham told me I needed to try Zoya b/c she loved their
polishes. So, I picked up this shade several weeks ago at Ulta while shopping with my friend Alison. This is the only Zoya polish I own, but I really like it. It glides on super
creamy and easy to apply. Great polish. Definitely a repurchase!

Weekend Rewind. What's in my Bag?

Hey Guys! I hope you all had a great weekend. I thought I would start doing a segment
called... Weekend Rewind, What's in my Bag and tell you about the treasures or finds
I pick up on the weekends!
I can pretty much guarantee you I will always find myself in a Target or mall at some
point through the course of a weekend and why not share with you what I buy!

So, you ready?! Weekend Rewind....

Friday I traveled to my hometown Cullman, AL where my besties from high school
had a cookout/celebration for my friends Rebecca and Robbie that are having
their second baby girl next month! Congrats for them. Since Rebecca already has
a precious little girl... "Taylor Brooke" named after me, or at least that's what
I tell myself :) ... I wasn't sure what she really needed/wanted. I have heard other girls
talk about Sophie the Giraffe chew toy for babies and everyone seems to rave about how
great they are. So, I went to Buy Buy Baby in Birmingham Friday afternoon and picked
one of these up. Rachel seemed to think it was "creepy," but I thought it was super
cute! If you have a baby or need to find a little something for a gift then read up on
Sophie! Seems to be a nice gift.

Saturday I went to BridgeStreet Mall in Huntsville with a one of my friends and
picked up the Body by Victoria Demi Bra. I had a coupon for a free pair of panties and those
coupons always have $10 off a bra. I NEVER EVER EVER buy new bras! I wear the same
boring beige Calvin Klein bra ALL THE TIME!! I'm just not very exciting in that dept of
my life. It's not that I don't like pretty bras it's just not what I choose to spend my money
on! $50 bucks on something that no one EVER sees... I'm good. But, my friend Alison
is trying her best to persuade me to buy pretty bras!

So, being that is was tax free weekend and all here in Bama I decided I could use a new bra.
This Demi bra has memory fit that conforms to your body. It feels like those memory
foam beds.... mmmm it's so soft and I can't even tell I'm wearing a bra. SCORE! With the
discount it ended up being $32.00! Yay. For ole Vicky that is pretty cheap.

This is the bra, but I got the color berrylicious.

Then off to my favorite place on earth Target Circles!! I picked up a couple Essie polishes.
This was my first Essie purchase. I have picked out their shades at the Nail
Salon before, but have never purchased. I LOVE these colors.
One thing you should know about me is that I DO NOT care for fall. Unlike
most of you out there that long for the cooler weather, football season, cute scarves,
and jackets I dread the dark nights and cold weather!
However, with that being said one thing I love about fall is dark finger nail polish.

This shade is called "Over the Edge."
Essie describes it as a "dramatic midnight silver."
To me it's a gorgeous charcoal with shimmer.
LOVE THIS COLOR!!

This color is called "Chinchilly."
Doesn't that name kind of remind you of fall?
Essie describes this shade as a "sleek granite gray."
Gray over the last year or two has become my favorite color. So, I cannot wait to
try this shade out. It's such a pretty neutral.

So, there you have my first Weekend Rewind. I hope you enjoyed!

Have a fabulous week!

Red Finger Nails

Red Finger Nails.
What is about painting your finger nails red that automatically gives you a
different attitude!

Last week I traveled to Florida to visit family and got a mani/pedi before leaving.
I believe this color is called OPI Red. I really wanted a bright red color and this
one was perfect.

I don't know about you, but every time I paint my nails red it just puts me in such a good
mood. There is something about red that makes you feel sassy, sexy, and just womanly.
I love red! All year long... summer, fall, winter it's just a great color in my opinion!
I get the same effect when I put red lipstick on. Now red lipstick is not something I wear
very often, but when I do I get that sassy womanly feeling with it as well.
Last week I wore some Make Up Forever lipgloss in a bright red color and my
5 year old cousin, Lane, proceeded to tell me in his sweet little voice that
I sure did like red! I guess my finger nails and lipgloss were enough for him!

I think painting your nails is such a easy and inexpensive way to get yourself
in a better mood. The color you pick can really alter the way you feel, want to dress, and
maybe even how you feel about yourself!

Have a great day!

Barefoot in Barcelona

One of OPI new nail shades in Barefoot in Barcelona.
I recently got my nails done and picked this shade... So pretty!!

It's a perfect summer neutral if you want something that will go with anything and give you a natural look .

Here it is on my nails...

On another note... doesn't the name of this color make you want to dream a little?! How awesome would it be to walk "barefoot in Barcelona" right now. mmmm. I do love to travel so maybe I should add this to my next place to visit.
