Friday Favorites - Lips

Happy Happy Friday!

Are you as ready for this weekend as I am?! It's been a crazy, but good week and
I'm ready for some R&R this weekend.

Today I wanted to share my current lip favorite. This has been my go to
shade for the past two months and I feel like it's the perfect pink for summer.

This is the only Bobbi Brown product I own. I haven't ever really tapped
into her brand, but love her philosophy behind makeup and beauty and the
whole natural look.

This color is beautiful for summer. It's a wearable every day shade with a pop
of brightness that wears really well for this time of the year.

The other thing I really love about this particular color line is that it's very
long wearing and has a bit of a staining effect. I'm a lippie girl and I love products
that stay on well and don't wear off after a sip or two of water. I like to have it last
as long as possible without feeling like it's always in need of reapplying.

I love the packaging. Classy. Chic. Can't go wrong with black and white.
It looks so sophisticated and grown up. : )

Not that it should really matter, but it does draw us in more, right?!

Here is a swatch on my wrist. I would describe this color personally as
a bright rose pink.

Bobbi describes it as a "medium toned pink."

So pretty and a summer favorite of mine!

What's your summer lip favorite?

Makeup Mayfest Day 10

Confession... I am NOT a fan of moisturizing.

I am so guilty of buying lotion and using it a few times and storing it away to never
be used again. I am just not a fan of heavy creams and lotions that leave me with a greasy
heavy feeling. ICK!

However, I am currently using two different lotions that I am loving for
2 different reasons and wanted to pass along.

I bought the new formulated Jergens Natural Glow tanning
lotion on Monday and with only TWO applications I can tell a
huge difference! woo hoo! I love products that work and work fast!

I decided to go with the medium to tan formula since I am trying to get
some color fast for my upcoming beach trip next weekend.

This new formula is supposed to have no odor. hmmm, I will say I think it is better
than what they had before, but there is still a faint tanning smell. It's not
bad or unpleasant, but it's there a bit.

Great lotion for getting some natural summer color and glow.

Vaseline Spray and Go lotion is also a new product that came out this year
and this lotion is purrrrrfect for me.

The packaging is much like a spray sunscreen bottle. You twist the cap to the side and spray.
This works for me so well because it is non-greasy and absorbs so quickly into the skin.
One of the things I despise about creams and body butters is how long it takes to rub
the product into your skin. ugh! This is so thin and lightweight and takes no time at all
to rub yourself down.

What are your favorite moisturizers?

Makeup Mayfest ~ Day 2

Happy Friday to you!

I have so many spring lippies to share with you. I have decided I think I
will narrow them down by brand and today I'm going to share some Cover Girl
goodies that I have bought this spring.

I have been loving my Covergirl jumbo gloss balms.
There is something about a big fat crayon lip product that I love.

They are easy and honestly just kind of fun!

Color on the left (#235) is a fun bright coral.
Color on the right (#215) is a bright soft watermelon pink.

These provide a good balm like texture to your lips and also have really
great lasting power. They aren't a stain by any means, but I will often top these
off with a gloss and I've noticed having some color left on my lips after hours
of them being applied.

This was my fortune cookie yesterday... I'm not a suspicious person or believe
in a lot of signs, but the timing of this was pretty darn good. This week has not been
a good one... I truly need God to help me with some stuff I got going on. I know He is able
and I know I have to trust Him, but the letting go and letting God is not always the
easiest. Prayers welcome please!

Have a great weekend.

Product of the Day

I finsished my Maybelline Clean Express eye makeup remover
this morning and thought what better time than to do a quick review.

Maybelline released this new remover this year. I am always using these removers
and most of them work about the same. (although my favorite is still by Neutrogena)

Clean Express is a waterproof mascara remover and claims to be
 ultra gentle and oil free.

Like I said there is not going to be an indepth review on this product. Most eye
make up removers do the same thing so there is not a ton of room for explanation
and demonstration.

But, I will say I did really enjoy using this product. It works very effectively in
removing all your mascara, shadows, and liner. It doesn't burn and does have a cooling
calming effect on the eyes.

This retails at drugstores for around $5. I would most definitely repurchase this again.
However, I am planning on buying the Neutrogena brand next just for comparison
to see which one does the job better.

What's your favorite eye make up remover?!

Drugstore Blushes- Milani

If your search for a good drugstore blush has left you less than impressed
then here's that moment when you should tune in!

Until I recently discovered the Milani Baked Blushes I had never found a
blush at the drugstore that was worth much to me.

I decided to purchase two good corals for spring.
Left: Coralina
Right: Luminoso

Coralina is a gorgeous bright red coral that will look great with a good tan for that
pop of color we all want this time of the year.

Luminoso, oh how I love thee. This has been my go to blush for a while now. It is the perfect peach color.  I have to force myself to use other blushes b/c this baby is perfecto! It works with anything and
everything. It's one of those blushes you don't have to think about what you are pairing it with.
Works great with a bright lip, smoky eye, natural eyes, natural lip... ok, you get the point.
LOVE this blush!

Another reason I love these blushes is because they are baked. I don't understand all that goes
into baked products other than they are baked directly on some kind of Italian terra cotta tile.

Baked products always give off great color pigmentation on top of giving your skin
a good healthy glow.

They have a highlighting effect to them... so if you are into highlighting (like me)
you may want to go easy on that with these blushes to prevent looking too much
like a disco ball.

Here are your swatches.
Left is Coralina
Right is Luminoso

These are by far my favorite blushes at the moment and unless something drastically
changes remain in my opinion the best drugstore blushes. These come in a variety of
shades and retail for around $7.

What is your favorite spring blush?!

POTD- Mascara

I recently bought a new mascara that has instantly become the best mascara I have
used in a year. I heard great review after great review after great review on this mascara,
but just never picked it up until recently.

Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume is seriously the best drugstore mascara for making my
lashes super thick, and voluminous. One coat could be enough for a more natural look,
but with 2 or 3 coats my lashes are like BAM!

The brush is very large and has a rubber like brush that reminds me a lot of the
Benefit They're Real mascara brush.

Covergirl Lashblast can be found at your local drugstore and retails for around
$7.

I'm in the market for a new eyelash curler. Leave me a comment with what
you currently use and if you like it!

Product of the Day- Color Tattoo

Happy Friday People! We made it or are slowly making it to the weekend.

Today's POTD is a new Maybelline Color Tattoo I picked up at Ulta
this week. They were featuring a BOGO on several new items so I bought this along
with my new Loreal Glossy Stain.

If you read my blog regularly you know that I love this product. I believe this is the 7th or
8th one I have bought. They are a great cream base for your eyeshadow. Some of the darker
shades can be worn alone for just a sweep of color, but with the lighter shades I prefer
to use them as a primer. I apply with my fingers and then apply a powder shadow over
for fantastic color and lasting power!

The shade I was specifically looking for "Inked in Pink" was in their promotional
basket. YAY! Love when that happens. I had read a review on this color and
knew it was something I would get a lot of use out of.

"Inked in Pink" is a soft pearl champagne pink. It is very light and natural and works
well with a variety of colors.

This week I have been applying the color tattoo as my base and then placing Loreal Amber
Rush over lid and then using a matte medium brown in my crease/corner. But, with this light
pink color you could use any shade of brown or purples or light beige colors.
It's just a very functional pink.

(Here's a free FOTD with my eye look)
(Side note... on lips is the new Loreal Glossy Stain... still loving that)

Out of all my Maybelline Color Tattoos this is currently my fave. I've said before there
are colors that are so yummy I want to eat and this is one of those! It's just such a pretty girlie
feminine pink.

I have a feeling "Inked in Pink" is going to become a staple in my routine especially
with spring and summer around the corner! It will be a great shade for those months!

Have a great weekend and let me know what you think about this review!

Product of the Day- Concealer

Today's product of the day and review is brought to you by
Revlon and Maybelline.

I have been using 2 different concealers for different reasons, but they both have been
a favorite in my routine during these winter months.

On the left I have Revlon Photoready Concealer in the shade light/medium.
This is my favorite concealer of the moment for concealing blemishes, spots, or even
under the eyes. It's a thicker formula, but yet very creamy and blendable. I didn't use this
as much during the summer, but it's been perfect for me during the winter months as I have
felt my skin needs extra coverage in areas.

I have found myself applying a thinner layer of foundation all over my face and
then using this to really go over areas that are in need of some tlc for a more flawless finish.

Love this concealer and would definitely repurchase at my drugstore when I run out.

The concealer on the right is Maybelline Dream Lumi touch Highlighting concealer
in the shade beige (might need a lighter shade).
I have found this to be a great concealer for brightening up your under eye area. I don't have
many dark circles or bags under my eyes, but I still find it helpful for making my eyes
look more awake, youthful, and brightened. I had to play around with this a little to find the best
application is patting with your finger. I used brushes and sponges and wasn't getting the effect
I wanted, but after application I just use my middle finger to lightly dab the product into
my skin and you can see the difference a lot more effectively.

I have friends that don't use concealer and it's not always needed. You can always
double up on foundation if you need extra coverage, but for me during these colder
months I find it more needed and it gives me a more polished look when I want it!

These both have gotten great reviews in the beauty world for different reasons.
What is your favorite concealer?!

Product of the Day- Loreal Infallible Shadow

I'm back after a long weekend of food and festivities with a POTD.

I grabbed this Loreal Infallible eyeshadow in Amber Rush while out and about
with mom. It's one of those shadows that has been on my radar and I have heard countless
positive reviews on.

I must say the reviews live up and exceed any expectation I had!

These are sold as a single shadow and are packaged in this cute little plastic case that
screws off and product is in a little pot. This color is a beautiful rose gold color that looks
like pure gold when swatched.

It is rich in color, texture, and staying power. These are marketed as a 24 hour shadow, which
I can't vouch for, but I can say with a primer they last a whole work day without creasing
or losing the vibrant color.

I used Amber Rush as a lid color and paired a matte medium brown in my outer corner and
crease.

This color would make for a gorgeous holiday festive color due to the shine and shimmer
it provides.

Have you tried any of these shadows?!

Product of the Day- Dry Shampoo

If you have read my blog regularly or if you know anything about me you will
know that Dry Shampoo is a holy grail product for me. I could not live without this in
my beauty routine. I literally only wash my hair once or twice a week now and my hair
looks at it's very best when dirty and dry shampoo applied.

I frequently go through different dry shampoo's just to test and try various lines
and see what I like. I've gone through many bottles and they all pretty much do the job,
but I have found some that I really do like and one's that I don't.

My latest try/find is by Batiste Hint of Color for dark and dark brown hair.

This really caught my attention b/c the only bad thing I can think of with dry shampoo is most
come out white and with dark hair you have to spend a little time blending in. So, how awesome
to have it come out of the bottle already dark?!?! Well, that would be awesome if it did that, but
honestly it doesn't. It still has a white powdery finish, but blends in very easily.

Other than the color not living up to it's claims I have no other complaints. This product
is so wonderful. It has a great smell, gives lots of volume to roots when your hair is oily, and
refreshes your hair without washing. If you have never tried dry shampoo I HIGHLY
recommend this stuff. It has become such a staple in my routine that has saved me time in
washing, blow drying, styling and on top of that just makes my hair look better and more
healthy! Batiste is a great brand to try b/c it's sold at drugstores, and Ulta and is affordable.
This bottle retails for $8.99

You can get Batiste in Hint of Color for Blonde hair, Batiste original scent, Batiste
Blush, and Batiste Tropical. The scent of this one is the best I have tried in their line. I don't
know how to describe it. It's kind of powdery in a shea butter/beach kind of smell. Maybe.

Do you use dry shampoo? If so, what are your favorites?

Hair Routine Update- Conair Curls

Hey Everyone, hope you had a great weekend.

Last week I did a post about a new hair routine I was going to try and see how I liked.
I thought I would give you some updates after trying the leave in conditioner, oil, and conair spiral
curlers.

So, let me first start by saying by hair was much softer and felt healthier with using the Loreal
Eversleek Argon oil. Big fan of that product already! They also featured it on the Today show
recently as a great alternative to the highly purchased and sought after Moroccan oil.

I still want to play around with these curlers some more because the morning after I slept on them
wet I wasn't thrilled with the look. My hair was a bit large and kind of crazy looking, but after a day or two of wear I actually did like the curls and look a lot. My curls were more defined, tighter, bouncier,
and polished looking. I do think these curlers would be a great look for a special event if you
wanted lots of volume and spiral curls or waves. So, if you have holiday events around the
corner this could be a great look to try.

I thought I would just attach some pictures of various days of having the Conair curls and
let you do your own analysis of what you think! : )

Last Tuesday night... project Conair Spiral curlers.
Not so sure about this....

Wednesday morning. CURLS!

I decided to pull the sides back so there wasn't so much going on
in the front. This seemed to tame it down a little and make it more wearable.

Curls on Friday night for GNO and celebrating Lisa's 30th!!

Me, Lisa, Rachel, Alison out and about.
As you can see here I took a bobbi pin and pulled back my bangs/front.

I am attaching this picture for 2 reasons:
1. You can see the front of my hair really well and the sprial curls.
2. Alison and I doing the Wop.
Nuff said. : )

Another curl picture with Rach on Friday night. She came down from C town
to spend the night with her bestie! We had such a fun night!

So, a few closing things to know about my hair with these curlers:
1. The look lasted me 5 days
2. Applying the curlers was easy and took about 10 min max
3. Taking the curlers out the following morning was effortless. No pulling or tangles getting them out.
4. After a day of wear they do become more wearable and tame.
5. Easy and affordable way to get bouncy curls.

What do you think about these curls? Would you try the Conair spiral curlers?

Product of the Day- Blush

If you are looking for a great fall neutral blush then stay tuned as I have the perfect
color! There is a reason this blush falls on MAC's bestselling blush list.

It's so gorgeous! MAC Gingerly is a very unique color that flatters most skin tones. It's
a brick/brown kind of color as it has hints of red and orange to it.

As you can see it's not your typical brown or pink neutral. It's got some spice to it that will work
well with most looks you want to do. You could pair this with a bold smoky eye or
a bold lip and not have too much color on your cheeks, but enough to give you a healthy glow.

Gingerly is a sheertone finish which is nice because it has color, but is not going to apply
too heavily.

MAC Gingerly retails for $20.

Maybelline Color Tattoo- Review + Swatches

Maybelline released a product called, Color Tattoo last year and the beauty world went
a little crazy about this product in a little jar.

So, what is it you ask? It's a 24 hour cream shadow base or primer that has a color. It can
be worn alone if you want a natural or easy look, but most would choose to use as a primer before
placing your eyeshadow to help it have lasting power.

Maybelline had a heck of a buzzed about 2012 Fall line and with that came new limited edition
colors. So, if you interested in the new shades you better get your hands on them fast because they
won't be around for long.

Four new shades were released: Barely Beige (creamy beige with shimmery finish)
Gold Shimmer (bronzy brownish gold) Rich Mahogany (dark coffee brown with red shimmer)
and Mossy Green (olive green with gold shimmer)

As of right now I just own one of these lovely shades, Barely Beige. It seemed
the most practical to me because this neutral can be worn under basically
any shade and serve as a great primer.

It comes in a little jar. Love the packaging. If you are a MAC person you will
know these products are compared to their paint pots.

Look how creamy and beautiful that color is. These are best applied
by using a finger and blending onto lid.

Thoughts on Maybelline color tattoos?
Have you seen all four colors in person... whatcha think?

Nars Blush Review + Swatches

After using NARS bronzer, Laguna, and being so impressed with the formulation,
pigmentation, and color I knew I wanted to try one of their award winning blushes.
But, which one??!! There are so many pretty shades to pick from.

I visited Sephora a couple weeks ago and got the associate to give me her opinion of which
color would transition nicely for Fall/Winter. I wanted something a little different than just
a pink, or coral, or neutral.

I went with NARS, Sin, a berry with gold shimmer.
Nars blushes retail at Sephora for $28.

Thing to know about this blush is a little does go a long way. It is a very pigmented blush
so a light dab rather than a swirl with your brush will be best if you have light to medium
skintone.

Nars Sin is one of their bestselling blushes and if you follow Beauty trends you know that it was
a shade released in their Danmari blush palette last year. Sephora no longer has the palette for
sale, but it had four of their best selling blushes, along with a bronzer and highlighter. You
can still find the palette online, but it is going for $179 so good luck with that!

Glade Spray Review

You may have noticed than I am a little obsessed with scents lately.
One of my favorite things about Fall is yummy scents that warm up your house.

I recently bought a spray at Wal-Mart and have been crazy obsessed with it. I have a cat
and dog that live in my one bedroom apartment so as you can imagine I like having some candles
and sprays handy.

Glade released this Maple Pumpkin spray for the season and it smells just like it sounds.
Warm, decadent, smooth, yummy, fall, and comfort in a can. Can I just say how much I love
the packaging too? I am a sucker for good packaging and this can just makes me happy.

I find myself spraying this yummy stuff all the time.

I think I'm warming up to this whole Fall season, whatcha think?!

Revlon Mascara Review

"Get glamorous, big volume lashes from every angle" is what Revlon
promises with one of their newer mascaras... Photoready 3d.

NEGATIVE!!! There is nothing special about this mascara at all in my opinion. I
am not very brand loyal to any mascara. I enjoy shopping around different brands
and typically always buy drug store. This is not a mascara I would re-purchase
and for me that says a lot about how I feel about the product. Nothing out of the
ordinary and for a mascara that claims to be volumizing.

I do think it provides good separation and maybe ok in lengthening, but that's about
it. If I were rating this on a scale of 1 to 5 for a volumizing mascara I would give
it a 2 or 3. I will be sticking to my Loreal Voluminous Mascara (a personal
fave) as well as continuing to find the next best thing!

What mascara's are your personal faves?!
Leave me a comment... you know you wanna!

MAC Highlighting Review

So, Summer is right around the corner and nothing says healthy glowy skin
better than some good highlighting products for your cheekbones!

MAC has some great products that have become a staple in my make-up bag
and a step I use every day to get glowy healthy looking skin.

First things first. Apply MAC cream color base in the shade Shell. It's a soft pink
beige with shimmer. Use your fingertips or a angled sponge and apply this
to the tops of your cheekbones.

You can apply this under or over your foundation. I prefer for it to be applied over
foundation before I apply blush and bronzer.

Then after applying Shell I take MAC skinfinish in Soft & Gentle to set the cream
and for an added glow. A lot of days I will just use this powder on it's own to
the tops of cheekbones without using the cream. It's a peach bronze powder with a hint
of shimmer.

In this picture you get the idea of what your cheekbones will look like with both
products applied. Just makes for a pretty, feminine glow! : )

Have a Beautiful Day!

Maybelline Blush Review

I bought the new Dream Bouncy blushes by Maybelline recently and I have to admit
these are not my fave!

I thought the idea of these blushes seemed really cool. They have a bouncy memory
foam kind of texture, but the quality of these products are not impressive to me at all.
They go on VERY sheer and don't give much color at all. Yes, they can be build-able,
but who really wants to continue to build more and more blush when there are better
products that you can get the look you want in one swipe.

I bought two shades.
Left ( Hot Tamale)
Right (Coffee Cake)

Here you can see how these blushes respond to me placing my finger into the product.
Kind of makes for a fun texture. Maybelline claims that these blushes have a powder
texture yet melts on the face like a cream. They also claim for this blush to be a
natural sheer wash of color. I would agree with their claims... it is a very natural
finish and if you are not into bright blushes or want a lot of color on your face then
you may like these.

I am an advocate of cream blush in the summer. I like a good dewy effect on the cheeks to
give you that healthy summer look. However, I think there are better cream cheek
products out there. If you are willing to splurge a little I like Urban Decay glide on cheek
tint or MAC Cremeblend blushes.

Hope you have a "Cheeky" Day!

Loreal Review

Well, Hello there. Long time no see, huh?! I'm going through my not wanting
to blog phase that I often hit... boo. But, I've been thinking about trying to do a
post per day with a review. What do you think? I have said often that I blog about
things I want or buy, but feel like I don't do as many actual reviews on these products
and give my feedback.

I don't know why I didn't do this during Lent when I wasn't shopping... this would have
been a perfect project, but sometimes my ideas are like a great afterthought.

Anyway, I'm going to try to commit to doing more reviews on products I own and
am currently using and give my opinions of why I love them, hate them, or am
indifferent on.

I have been using Loreal Magic Souffle Foundation for a couple of months now
and can honestly say I LOVE it. I bought this as a back up foundation for some of my high
end stuff I use and in the process has become my new fave!! This can be purchased at any drugstore or Target or Wal-mart for around 11-15 dollars.

When I first started using I wasn't in love with it b/c it does have a much
different texture that what I had been used to. It does have a whipped
souffle feel to it. It leaves my face with more of a matte powdery effect and at first I didn't
like that. I had been using Make Up Forever HD foundation which had a much more
dewy luminous finish. After using for a few weeks I really started to love the way my skin
looked when wearing this foundation. I never felt like I got oily or shiny and my
skin just had a very natural even tone to it.

When first applied you may think your face looks a little too matte or powdery, but just
let it set into your skin and do it's job and see how great your skin/face looks later in the day.
I think you will be impressed!

(see texture above)

I apply this foundation with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush (sold at Ulta) or with my
fingers for a more natural finish. I have been picking this foundation over a very high
end foundation I bought at Sephora by Hourglass. I just am in love with this foundation
and what it does for my skin.

Loreal claims that this foundation:
"Creates a flawless , silky, even toned finish and when applies daily will achieve
smooth poreless perfection."

I feel like it does all of those things. I am been struggling with feeling like my
pores around my nose and the apples of my cheeks are much more visible. Maybe
I just didn't notice them that much before, but I do now! Gross! I feel like this foundation
does a FANTASTIC job at making pores look so much less noticeable and just overall
great tone!

My shade for the winter months with no tan has been Buff Beige. I will definitely be
re-purchasing this again for the summer and will go up a shade or two.

Have a Great day! Let me know what foundations you have been loving lately!
