May Beauty Favorites

It's been a LONG time since I have done a end of the month beauty faves, but
I want to try to get in the habit of doing that especially in the summer months so
since it is the end of the May here are my favorite products I have been using...

Sonia Kashuk has some great products. Her line is sold exclusively at Target and I recently
heard someone talk about her blushes. So, I decided to pick up a couple this month
and have been SO pleased with the finish and color.

The color above is called 03 Sunset. I don't know if you can tell from the picture,
but it is a bright tangerine kind of orange with shimmer. I have already gotten a good bit
of sun this spring/summer and with a tan this color is GORGeous! It gives that perfect
warmth to your face. I feel like people tell me how tan I look when I wear this blush.

This is my new favorite blush for the season!

Another one of her blushes I picked up and have worn a lot this month is in
the shade 97 Flamingo. It is just your perfect matte girly bumble gum pink that
everyone should have in your collection.

Soft, feminine, and looks good on any skin tone.

These blushes retail for $8.99 at Target.

If you read my blog very regularly then you know how obsessed I have been with
Revlon Lip Butters. They are affordable, give off great color, and are super
moisturizing.

I decided to get a bright pop of color for summer to compliment my tan skin and I am loving
this shade Lollipop. It is a bright hot pink/ fuchsia. But, beware it is very bright...
you may want to tone it down with a gloss on top. If you want something with some color, but
think this is to bold I would suggest Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie. It's my next fave.

You may have noticed the commercials about Garnier new BB cream. I have heard a lot
of buzz lately about this product. I don't know about you, but in the summer I become super
lazy and don't want a lot of make-up on my skin. I want something light, natural looking, and somewhat sheer once I build up a bit of a tan.

So, what this product does is renews, brightens, even skin tone, and hydrates. It's basically
a tinted moisturizer with vitamin c and mineral pigments. It has a spf of 15 and claims that after one
use 90% had a more even complexion, 93% saw a more healthy glow, and 96% saw
smoother skin. If your problem areas are discolorations, dullness, blotchiness or dryness then
this may be a product you want to look into.

Now, with that said don't expect an amazing coverage. It does give you an even skin tone, but
if you have acne, acne scaring, or freckles etc that you want hidden then you will need a concealer to
go with this. But, I have been using this a little over a week and have really enjoyed. They only
have two shades you can pick from light/medium or medium/deep. I got the darker one b/c
of the season and I have been tanning. It seems to match up with my color great.

This is a lot cheaper than a tinted moisturizer you would buy at a dept store too. It's $12.99 for 2.5
ounces. My only concern at this point is that it's not oil free. I tend to break out in my T zone if
I am not careful with oily products. So, that is the only thing I will be watching for, but other than
that I am really enjoying using for summertime. It also has a great clean kind of natural tea scent.

Hope you have had a wonderful May and looking forward to a new month and lots of summer
fun! Next month is my birthday month..... : )

Weekend Rewind-What's in my Bag?

It's that time again!! Time for what you say? For my second addition of

WEEKEND REWIND... WHAT'S IN MY BAG!! Duh!

Ok, so let me start my saying I am really sad b/c I recorded my own little video for
you guys to showcase all my new stuff... I thought it would be more exciting and change
things up, but it won't upload! : ( I'm going to have to take my computer to the Apple
store pronto. Something seems to be wrong lately.

Ok, so enough of that... here are the products I picked up this week/weekend.

Clinique has a new cream shadow called Lid Smoothie. They are an 8 hour water resistant
shadow that dries to more of a powder finish! I bought one of these in the color
gingerly. If you look at the picture below gingerly is the neutral champagne honey
color. It's a gorgeous nude color that you can pair with a matte brown in your crease!
If you have tried the Clinique Quick Eyes Cream Shadow it is similar to that, but different. I used the color, "rock violet" a lot last year. I personally like the new, lid smoothie better
b/c it dries to more of a powder finish. They have a taupe color in this line called sassy-fras
that is soooo pretty that I would love to try as well.

BLUSH!! I've really been feeling cheek products lately. So, I have been on the hunt
for a while for a great light pink/rose colored blush. I have corals, hot pink, and other
shades, but nothing in a pink/neutral. So, I originally bought the Maybelline FitMe
blush in the color "Medium pink." I tried it one day and was so disappointed... it was
so sheer you couldn't even see it on my skin. So, I returned it to Ulta and picked up this Lorac
blush in the color "Velvet Rope." I have been eyeballing this blush for a month or so.
It's a baked matte blush and it's pigmentation is incredible! It takes just a light
dab of this on your brush for it to go a LONG way! When I was exchanging the Maybelline
for Lorac the girl at the counter was like... oh, you are going to be so much happier with this blush! And yes, yes I am!
Another Clinique purchase. Belk has their gift going. This eye duo is called "spruced up."
I will say... I believe this is my favorite purchase of the week! I have been wanting an
olive green color for fall. You know what made me decide that? Did you watch this past
season of The Bachelorette? Well, Ashley had green on her eyes quite often and it made
her brown eyes look GORGEOUS!! So, I was happy to find this duo. I have used it for
the past few days and LOVE it! I really feel like these colors made brown eyes really pop!
Picked up this Sonia Kashuk eyeshadow brush at Target Circles on clearance.
It was $12.99 and was marked down to $3.84. Actually using this for concealer.

Another cheek product! Told you I was into cheeks! This is by Jemma Kidd and it's called
"Dewy glow all over radiance cream" in the color "rose gold." I learned about
this product on youtube from my girls, Pixiwoo. It's a great summer product for
highlighting your cheekbones to give you that dewy fresh glow to your skin!

Target started selling her line this spring, but you can't find this product there. I bought
mine from a company called www.b-glowing.com. I think this product could
last you a lifetime b/c it only requires a bit of this to get the look you want!

Whaaaaa? Another nail polish! Yes, oh yes! So, I am going to Destin, FL this weekend
with family and a best friend and her little boy. I wanted a color that said tropical and
this one does it. It's by Essie and it's called "Turquoise and Caicos." I think I bought
this shade as much for the name as the color. ha. Yes, I wanted a blue color b/c it is
a bit more out of my comfort zone, but the name makes me happy. I have been planning
a Caribbean vacation for the girls in my life.. mom and nana... and we actually looked into
visiting Turks and Caicos! We ended up picking Mexico instead, but maybe another time
I will get to visit the real Turks other than on my nails!

So, there you go. Hope you enjoyed this week's edition of What's in my Bag!

Sonia Kashuk

I wanted to do a shout out for Sonia Kashuk products. If you haven't tried any of her
stuff you should next time you are in Target.

Her stuff is exclusively sold there and every time I find myself in the great Target circle...
(which is quiet often I might add b/c I LOVE me some Target) I find
myself always looking at her stuff first.

She is really known for her brushes. She has great brushes that are more
affordable than what you would pay at Dept. stores.

Here are a few things by her that I am currently using and really enjoy...

So, on the far left you have the Foundation Sponges which I haven't really used yet.
So can't say much about them.

The brush cleaner... are you good at cleaning your brushes?!
Confession... I am SO not! I bought this b/c it's in a spray formula which I liked.
I have used it once and it worked well. You just spray your brushes or sponges down,
rinse and let dry overnight.

Lip Pencil in Natural and it is GORGEOUS. Very pretty nude/natural/pink
that goes great with a light pink gloss. I'm really getting into lining my lips lately.
Used to think it was really old fashioned looking and kind of gaudy, but
I am diggin on the natural shades. It really does make your lips look bigger.
I have been pairing this liner with MAC lipglass in Cultured... fyi.

To the far right I have the Pointed Foundation Brush. It works great around the
jawline, under your eyes, and corners. She also has a large foundation brush
that I would have bought, but they were out of when I bought this one.

That blue funky looking thing on the bottom is her Blending Sponge.
This is one of my favorite things. I use it everyday for blending my concealer
under my eyes and just evening everything out. If I am using cream blush
the bottom round part of the sponge is great for blending cream blush.

I also love her eye make-up remover. First of all it is really pretty! It's this
gorgeous lilac/blue color and when you shake it it looks so Beautamus!
Not that that really matters... just throwing that out there.
Her formula is great for sensitive eyes and contact users. I have another confession...
I SLEEP IN MY CONTACTS EVERY NIGHT!!! eeeekkk. I am wearing the Air Optix
Day and Night now which permits that more frequently, but not as often as I do! ha.
So, her eye make-up remover is great if you are like me and have sensitive eyes and wear
contact lenses.

So, next time you are in Target Circles (imagine me saying that in Kristin Wig voice on SNL
when she does the crazy Target lady) check out some of her stuff.
You will not be disappointed.

Have a great weekend! See you next week.
