Spring Make-up

Every season brings the opportunity to transform your make-up into a new
look. There are easy, subtle, and inexpensive ways to give yourself a fresh look
without breaking the bank.

Here are my favorite 5 ways to get my spring on:

1. Blush:
Pick a brighter pink or coral blush
My picks: Maybelline bouncy in Hot Tamale and Milani baked blush in Corallina

2. Highlighter:
Switch to a cream product that will give your face a more dewy finish
My pick: Jemma Kidd All Over Radiance Cream in Rose Gold

3. Eyeshadow:
Pick neutral colors that give the appearance you aren't wearing much.
My pick: Clinique lid smoothie in Gingerly

4. Eyeliner:
Ditch your brown or black and pick a color that will give your eyes a pop of brightness.
Try a navy or even more on trend this season green.
My picks: Merle Norman Galaxy (navy) and Urban Decay Junkie (bright emerald green)

5. Lips:
Go with a bright pink or coral. Adding a good pop of color to your lips when your eyes
are nude always works and looks so classy!
My pick: Cover Girl Jumbo Gloss balm in #235 Coral Twist

These are my favorite ways to transition into spring.
What are yours?!?!

Product of the Day- Color Tattoo

Happy Friday People! We made it or are slowly making it to the weekend.

Today's POTD is a new Maybelline Color Tattoo I picked up at Ulta
this week. They were featuring a BOGO on several new items so I bought this along
with my new Loreal Glossy Stain.

If you read my blog regularly you know that I love this product. I believe this is the 7th or
8th one I have bought. They are a great cream base for your eyeshadow. Some of the darker
shades can be worn alone for just a sweep of color, but with the lighter shades I prefer
to use them as a primer. I apply with my fingers and then apply a powder shadow over
for fantastic color and lasting power!

The shade I was specifically looking for "Inked in Pink" was in their promotional
basket. YAY! Love when that happens. I had read a review on this color and
knew it was something I would get a lot of use out of.

"Inked in Pink" is a soft pearl champagne pink. It is very light and natural and works
well with a variety of colors.

This week I have been applying the color tattoo as my base and then placing Loreal Amber
Rush over lid and then using a matte medium brown in my crease/corner. But, with this light
pink color you could use any shade of brown or purples or light beige colors.
It's just a very functional pink.

(Here's a free FOTD with my eye look)
(Side note... on lips is the new Loreal Glossy Stain... still loving that)

Out of all my Maybelline Color Tattoos this is currently my fave. I've said before there
are colors that are so yummy I want to eat and this is one of those! It's just such a pretty girlie
feminine pink.

I have a feeling "Inked in Pink" is going to become a staple in my routine especially
with spring and summer around the corner! It will be a great shade for those months!

Have a great weekend and let me know what you think about this review!

Christmas Reveals Day 2

Another beauty goodie Santa brought this year was the highly
sought after Lorac Pro Palette.

After hearing review after review on how pigmented, creamy, and wonderful this palette
was on top of great everyday neutral colors and a row of matte and row of shimmer
shadows I was pretty much convinced.

So, without further ado I give you my newest palette love...

If you are familiar with Nars packaging then you will probably notice that the Pro palette
is packaged much the same way. It's case is a black rubbery texture that has a smooth matte finish,
but on the down side does attract fingerprints and dirt. Other than that I like the packaging.
It's extremely thin. Much thinner than either of the Naked palettes by Urban Decay.

Picture above is with the flash so you can see the shimmer shades on the bottom stand out a
little better.

As you can see there are 16 total shades. 8 matte shades on the top and 8 shimmery shades
on the bottom.

Some may look at this and just think it's just another neutral palette. Nothing that special to
it. But, I would beg to differ. I feel like there is so much that can be done with a palette
with both matte and neutral shades. Most people want to combine the two. When in a hurry and
on the go or traveling this palette makes things easy. Everything you need for a light
natural eye or a dark smokey look is here along with a matte black eyeliner.

Lorac Pro retails at Sephora or Ulta for $42.

Sephora's description is:

What it is:
A professional palette featuring 16 ultra-pigmented eye shadows infused with soothing botanicals and a mini Behind The Scenes Eye Primer for stay-true color that lasts.

What it does:
Created by celebrity makeup artist Carol Shaw, this PRO artistry palette is packed with eight shimmer and eight matte eye shadows in all the shades you need to create the hottest looks straight from the red carpet. LORAC’S velvety smooth shadows are infused with soothing botanicals and are ultra-pigmented to perform wet or dry so you can shade, shadow, line, and define your eyes, just like a pro. With 16 shadows to contour, line, define, and create any look you desire, you have everything you need for your eyes and brows in one sleek palette!

What do you think about the Lorac Pro Palette? Would you purchase this?

Product of the Day- Loreal Infallible Shadow

I'm back after a long weekend of food and festivities with a POTD.

I grabbed this Loreal Infallible eyeshadow in Amber Rush while out and about
with mom. It's one of those shadows that has been on my radar and I have heard countless
positive reviews on.

I must say the reviews live up and exceed any expectation I had!

These are sold as a single shadow and are packaged in this cute little plastic case that
screws off and product is in a little pot. This color is a beautiful rose gold color that looks
like pure gold when swatched.

It is rich in color, texture, and staying power. These are marketed as a 24 hour shadow, which
I can't vouch for, but I can say with a primer they last a whole work day without creasing
or losing the vibrant color.

I used Amber Rush as a lid color and paired a matte medium brown in my outer corner and
crease.

This color would make for a gorgeous holiday festive color due to the shine and shimmer
it provides.

Have you tried any of these shadows?!

Face of the Day

It's been a while since I did a FOTD post, so thought I would give it a shot!

I recently blogged about some Revlon products I bought and thought I would incorporate
them into a FOTD so you can see how they look.

Two of these products, Revlon colorstay quad in Decadent and Revlon colorburst
gloss in Rosepearl have been some of my faves lately. Especially the gloss!! It's the most
gorgeous rose/pearl shimmery gloss that is perfect for fall. It's neutral, but yet gives a pretty
brown/rose pop of color. Love, love, love!

My Face. : )

Products used on eyes were Revlon Decadent Quad.
This quad is such a gorgeous soft neutral pink/gold color. It's soft,
feminine, and will look great with any blush or lip shade you want to throw on with it.

These quads are great b/c there are so many different ways you can wear them. Love
the gold (far right) and Cranberry (bottom right).

Great pigment and long lasting. Retails for around $7 at drugstore!

This Revlon colorburst gloss in Soft Rose has been a staple in my
make up looks this fall. Of course this color can be used anytime of the year b/c it's
so neutral, but man oh man it is so pretty on! It's got a shimmer and pearl finish that just
makes your lips look so healthy, sexy, and yummy!

I wish I had big plump lips, but I shall keep wishing.

This gloss also retails for around $7, but Revlon often has a Bogo special.

Other products used for this look:
Foundation: Clinique Even Better (loving)
Bronzer: NARS Laguna (fave)
Blush: Rimmel Autumn Catwalk
Mascara: Almay Get up and Grow (great)
Liner: Urban Decay Black

What do you think about this look?!

Product of the Day- Revlon Quad

After really enjoying my Revlon Colorstay quad in Decadent I decided to pick
up another that had a darker more fall look.

Last year I really got into using olive and found it looks amazing on brown eyes. Olive
is such a pretty color that looks great mixed with gold and browns. It's also a color that is complimentary on any eye color and will give a great pop of color.

This is the quad in Adventurous and as you can see comes with:
Light cream highlight, olive green, copper brown, and matte dark brown.

These shades are gorgeous and rich in color. It only takes a small tap of these
shades to give off a lot of color. These quads claim to last 16 hours. I have not personally
put this to the test, but can say that with a primer these do last most of the day and I don't
experience any creasing.

Revlon Colorstay quads can be found at your local drugstore and retail for around $7.

Stay tuned for Face of the Day posts with these shadows incorporated.

Have you tried any Revlon colorstay quads?

Product of the Day- Eye Duo

Today's POTD is brought to you by the Loreal Hip Eyeshadow Duo.
I bought this duo last fall and I think it's a gorgeous combo for fall/winter months.

BAM! How pretty, right?!

The left shade is a rich light silvery beige/taupe and the right shade is beautiful shimmery
plum. Both of these shades are so creamy, blend-able, and pigmented!

The taupe shade works well on most every skintone. The purple could be a tad dark
for really light skin, but can also be blended out.

They both apply really well and have great staying power through the day... especially if you
use a primer.

This duo retails at drugstores for around $8.

The back of product opens up where a applicator is stored which is nice for on the
go application.

Have a great day!

Maybelline Eyestudio Quad- Review + Swatches

I've very excited about this blog post and review because I have been on
somewhat of a hunt to track down this quad.

Maybelline released their Fall 2012 line and there have been several products that created
quiet a buzz in the beauty world. I tend to get very wrapped up in products that get a lot
of buzz and are highly sought after. I had to visit 3 different drug stores in my city before
I could even get my hands on one of these quads... so it has to be good, right?!

So, "Olive Martini" is the quad that everyone is talking about and trying to get
their hands on.

As you can see it is a very unique palette with colors most may not have in their
shadow collection. You get a icy beige with shimmer, a cool mint green, what appears
to be a rich emerald green, and a copper cinnamon red brown.

The most unique shade in this palette is by far the third. In the palette as you can tell it appears
to be a deep green. However, when swatched it could not be more different. It is frosty green that
is actually a duochrome shade that turns out to be a green with brown and redish tint. I'm probably
not doing a great job at explaining this, but there is a lot more going on in that shade that what meets
the eye.

Here are all four swatches in natural lighting.

And here again with a flash. Obviously, the lightest shade is at the bottom and I went up to the
darkest near my wrist. This photo allows you to see how that third shade from the bottom
(the duochrome shade) really does have a unique color. You can see the brown background, but
the green highlights show through to give such a different color.

I have been loving the look this quad gives and hope to post a FOTD with it this week.
Have you tried any Fall 2012 products?

Contact Lenses

I have a piece of very practical advice for those of you that are contact lense wearers.

About a year ago my eye doctor decided to switch me from Acuvue Oasys, a very
breathable lense to Air Optix Night and Day.

Small confession I have here peeps... you ready?!

I sleep in my contacts for days, weeks, sometimes even months at a time!!!!!!!
You do whaaaaaaaaaa???
Yes, Yes, it's true and I am here to publicly confess to you all.

So, I have been wearing these contacts for over a year now and LOVE LOVE LOVE them!
These lenses have the highest level of breathability of any other lense I am aware of on
the market. Now, the commercials or website will tell you you can sleep in them for days
at a time.... well, some of us (cough, cough) may do that a little more!

My doctor told me I could sleep in them for a week-two weeks at a time with taking
them out once a night to give my eyes a break. I will let you be the one to decide if
I do that very often!

You can wear them for a month at a time and then you need to switch out to a new pair.
They are a little more expensive than the Acuvue, but in my opinion SO worth it if
you like to sleep in you contacts.

Getting Naked... WHAAAA?!

I was so excited this week to purchase the Urban Decay Naked Palette.
I have been eyeballing this palette for a few weeks and after reading great reviews, and watching some youtube videos I was sold!

There are a few matte shades in the palette, but most are a rich shimmery pigmented
colors. This seems like such a great and rich palette to work with for any
occasion, season, or event! I can't wait to play with these colors and come up with
some fabulous looks.

This palette comes with a travel size container of the best selling Eye Shadow
Primer Potion by Urban Decay. I am more than likely going to do a give a way with
this so stay tuned!

Here are the shades under recessed lighting.

This is what the palette looks like

Here again in natural lighting. You can't see the shimmer
under natural lighting, but trust me it's there!!

You can purchase this at Ulta or Sephora and it retails for $48. Sounds a bit
pricy, but you are getting 12 shades that will last you a long time... or at least I am
hoping so!

So, go ahead let your eyes roam around Naked.... they will thank you for it!

I will update you with more posts about this palette in the futue about how I am liking.
Just wanted to share now b/c I am super excited to play!!

Real Life to Red Carpet

Lights, Camera, Glam-Action.

Want an eye shadow palette that you can use every day
and punch it up for a night out or special event?

I was in Sephora back in April when I approached a girl to explain
I wanted some eye shadow for a photo shoot I was doing. She pulled
this set and it is practical, affordable, and neutral enough for anyone.

This Lorac set includes:
Eye Shadow Compact of three shades
Eye shadow Primer
Black Liquid Liner
Mascara Primer
Mascara
Eyeshadow Brush for blending and smudging
Tutorial booklet with instructions.

Here are all three eye shadow shades on my hand in natural lighting.

I use the neutral colors EVERY DAY!! I love taking the copper color
in the middle and using as my lid shade and pairing it with a
matte brown for the crease. The lightest color on the far
right would also work great for a lid color or putting
in your inner corners to make your eyes pop.

Here is my Glam-Action photo by Rachel using all three colors. Not sure
if you can really see the lightest color in the corner of my eyes, but
it's there. I will try to do a review soon on that whole technique...
not that it is complicated or anything.

Have a Glamorous Day
