Friday Favorites - Lips

Happy Happy Friday!

Are you as ready for this weekend as I am?! It's been a crazy, but good week and
I'm ready for some R&R this weekend.

Today I wanted to share my current lip favorite. This has been my go to
shade for the past two months and I feel like it's the perfect pink for summer.

This is the only Bobbi Brown product I own. I haven't ever really tapped
into her brand, but love her philosophy behind makeup and beauty and the
whole natural look.

This color is beautiful for summer. It's a wearable every day shade with a pop
of brightness that wears really well for this time of the year.

The other thing I really love about this particular color line is that it's very
long wearing and has a bit of a staining effect. I'm a lippie girl and I love products
that stay on well and don't wear off after a sip or two of water. I like to have it last
as long as possible without feeling like it's always in need of reapplying.

I love the packaging. Classy. Chic. Can't go wrong with black and white.
It looks so sophisticated and grown up. : )

Not that it should really matter, but it does draw us in more, right?!

Here is a swatch on my wrist. I would describe this color personally as
a bright rose pink.

Bobbi describes it as a "medium toned pink."

So pretty and a summer favorite of mine!

What's your summer lip favorite?

Friday Faves

So, how well have I done this week with blogging?! Aren't you so proud?!

Time for a Friday Fave!!

Revlon recently came out with the Lip Butters and guys they are truly amazing.
They are a moisturizing lip balm, but with great color and pigmentation to look
more like a lipstick than balm.

I'm sure you have seen the ads and commercials with the lovely Emma Stone.
In her print she is sporting the shade "Peach Parfait" which is my personal fave.
It is the most wearable every day shade that looks great with any colors you are wearing.
Very natural. Very pretty. Love it!

I have four different Lip Butter shades.
From left to right:
Peach Parfait (my fave)
Strawberry Shortcake (bubblegum pink)
Candy Apple (bright red)
Berry Smoothie (berry)

Left to right:
Peach Parfait
Strawberry Shortcake
Candy Apple
Berry Smoothie

This is the packaging. They are in a quilted looking plastic tube.

Here are some swatches of the colors I own.
From bottom to top:

Berry Smoothie

Have you heard about the RLB? If so, which shades do you own and like?

Friday Faves

Well HELLOOOO there beauties!

After a near month break of blogging, I'm back! Where have you been you say?
Why did you stop blogging? hmmm. I'm not really sure. Laziness, planning trips
to NYC and Mexico, and best of all I got a baby puppy dog last week!! She is a light
apricot maltipoo named Millie and she has consumed my world. I will do a post on her
soon so you can meet this precious little angel!

So, I'm going to try my best to keep up with blogging and doing more reviews, but with
the Holidays quickly approaching I'm not making any promises! : ) Things get cray cray
around this time of the year.

So, I do have a Friday Product Fave that I wanted to blog about. I bought the Revlon
Photo Ready concealer about a month ago and have been using every day under my eyes and
on any blemishes I have!

Guys, I have to say I am so into this concealer. I have quit using my higher end
stuff and grab for this over the expensive stuff now! It is a stick which would lead you
to believe it would be a more dry consistency. Negative. It is the most creamy, smooth,
blendable concealer.

My face recently decided to turn into a pizza right before my trip to NYC and this
stuff covered my blemishes like nobody's business! I even showed my girlfriends on the
trip how well it hide my pepperoni face. They were all impressed and wanted to use it!

It's a bit more expensive than maybe your average drug store product, but much better
than a department store. Retails for $9.99.

I purchased the 003 light/medium shade and it works perfect for me for anyone that
is interested in knowing.

Ok, so this was a quickie. : ) Hope you enjoyed. I will do better, I promise!

Have a Fabulous weekend!

Friday Faves

Hi Lovelies!

Rachel and I are considering doing a Friday Faves link up so if you have a blog
and would like to showcase your "favorite things" on Friday's let me know!!

Last night I was with some girlie friends at this place in Homewood called Jackson's.
It is a great little hangout place that has an awesome patio area to sit outside.
We had gumbo, crab cake sandwiches, a hamburger omelet, buffalo chicken feathers,
and steak and cheese sandwich!!! YUM. Love that place. Hungry yet?!

Anyway, my friend Holly started asking me make-up questions. She was like... how do you
get your eye shadow to stay put all day long? How does your foundation and blush
still look good and hasn't sweated off? Well, I proceeded to say... I did do a small
touch up before I met them, BUT there are some great products that help your make-up
looking fresh and more put together all day long!

For your face use a primer before you put your foundation or powder on that will
help minimize your fine lines and pores and help make-up stay in place and not run.

Brightening Formula. This really just gives your foundation or powder
something to stick to and give your face more lasting power!
Retails @ Sephora for $30.

For lasting eyeshadow I have two faves! The first is another Urban Decay product.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion is amazing! I have been using this
since spring and I have been so impressed with my eyeshadow lasting all day long.
This is a clear cream that you apply to your eyes before you put on any eyeshadow..
let it dry and then apply.
Retails @ Sephora for $19.
The shadow that my friend, Holls, was asking about last night is one of my new
faves!! Make-Up Forever has Aqua Cream that can serve as a shadow on it's own
or a great primer/base. It is a water proof formula so it ain't going no where!
Retails @ Sephora for $22.

Yikes on this color!! I have 3 of these creams. Shade 2, 13, and 15. Shade 13
is a gorgeous champagne shimmer color that is light enough to use as a base and add
some other shades mixed in. Last night I used shade 13 on my lid, then applied a darker
pink/champagne color from a Wet N Wild Palette to add some dimension and then
took a matte brown in my crease. Very pretty and fresh looking!

Let me know what you think about this segment and what you are interested in
learning more about.

Happy Weekend!

Friday Fall Faves

So, I thought I would do a Friday Product Fave centered all around nail polishes!!

I am not a huge fan of fall like some people are... I enjoy certain things for sure, but
my most FAVORITE thing about fall is probably the nail polish shades. I love
painting my nails in darker funkier shades. I feel like nail polish is a trend
anyone can follow and feel good about!

So, I have picked several shades that I own and love or that are apart of the
Fall 2011 collections that I like this year!

I have provided a link to each polish to where you can purchase online. Just
simply click the name under the polish and it will direct you to a site where
you can purchase. :)

So, there you go... aren't these shades so pretty?! I love them all! I hope you will enjoy
experimenting with colors as much as I do this Fall!

Happy Weekend!

Friday Product Faves

TGIF and Happy Official Day of Fall Ya'll!!!

I know most of you are so excited to embrace the season of cool weather,
football season, scarves, boots, and jackets!

So, this week I wanted to feature products that I don't personally own, but desire
to own and have in my collection one day. I do a good bit of research on products
before I buy them. When I go into Sephora, Ulta, MAC, or Target
I pretty much know what I want to buy because I have either:

A. Read Great Customer Reviews on the Product
B. Seen a Tutorial Video Promoting the Product
C. Heard friends or family rave about the Product
D. Read about them in Magazines

So, without further ado...
Here are 6 products I have chosen to be on this Friday's Fave List
because of the great things I have read and seen about them.

I have never personally tried this, but this will be my next foundation purchase
because of the awesome things I have heard from people who have used it.
Apparently, it gives you more coverage than your average tinted moisturizer all while
keeping your face from getting too greasy or oily. If you have dry skin you can get this
in a non oil free version.
Bobbi Brown is one of those brands I have always wanted to get into. Her products
tend to me a bit on the pricy side, but I love her philosophy on make-up
and really promoting natural beauty. I have heard people say no other concealer
they have ever owned compares to Bobbi Brown so I am dying to get my hands on
some of her concealer. This set is designed for under eyes darkness and circles.
One shade conceals while the other sets it in place.

Have you heard of Mally?? This is a new face and name for me personally.
Mally is a make-up artist/stylist to celebrities and promotes a lot of her products
on QVC. About a month ago I was watching a special on this product called
"Poreless Face Defender."

It has been named the most innovative product by QVC as well as Customer
Choice Award. It is a clear powder that sets your make-up and hides your pores. It does not build up layers on your skin and make you look cakey like powder often does.

Mally claims she has not used translucent powder on her high profile celebrity
clients in TEN YEARS!! This product is designed to make you look younger,
protect your skin, set your make-up, and many other things!

This product just makes me giddy to write about because I HATE powder and
the look it gives! This seems like such a stand out because literally nobody
has on the market! : )

If you are interested in trying some of Mally's products that include the Poreless
Face Defender, QVC has a REMARKABLE deal today that I have already bought
this morning and am SO excited about. It is a SICK deal.

The Defender alone retails for $40 and you get a whole set of 7 pieces for $63.36
and trust me when I say this... I have heard outstanding reviews on all of the
products included in this set. So, if you are interested...
Click Here and get it while it lasts!!

Urban Decay has a great blush they call cheek tint. I have one of these in the shade
"Bang" that I used this summer and is gorgeous. The color I have featured above
is "Fetish" and I think it is a lovely shade for Fall.

The product feels like butter and glides on effortlessly to give you a subtle
glow and dewy effect.

Estee Lauder Modern Mercury Highlighter
Good luck finding this product anytime soon because apparently from here to
Hong Kong is sold out and everyone is on the prowl for this new Fall must have!
Estee Lauder released their Fall Mercury line and this gorgeous highlighter used
to highlight cheekbones, cupid's bow, and eyelids is on everyone's want list. It
retails for $40, but literally don't know where to find it right now.

Good Luck!

Another Urban Decay fave! Isn't the packaging on this product cool? I mean
it is a bit bulky, but very creative to say the least. This shade is in "Naked" and I think
it's just a great neutral to go with anything. If you have never heard of Urban Decay
then I would HIGHLY recommend you getting introduced with the "Naked Palette."
I as well as several friends I coaxed into getting LOVE it and it gives you so many
arrangements do play with on your eyes!

Have a Great Weekend!

Friday Product Faves

Happy Friday To All! What a week this has been...

Cheers to the weekend.

So, as I did last week I am going to feature some Friday Faves of things that I have been
using this week. Enjoy and have a happy weekend.

Look who dipped into the I Love Lettuce Lush mask last night...
If I was ever in need of a pampering last night was it!

So, this is how it looked on my face. This picture does not even come close to doing
justice to how gross this stuff looked. I looked like I had a disease or had boogers smeared
all over my face!! YUCK! But, I can say it did leave my face feeling tight and re-freshed.

Sticking with green theme... I have been loving the color olive on my eyes. I did a post
about this recently and just cannot get over how pretty olive looks with brown eyes. I am
not a big green person (on my face that is) and olive just is setting very well with me
these days.
Clinique: All Spruced Up Duo
Merle Norman: Hazel

On my nails this week I did "Jules" by Zoya.
It's a champagne light gold color.
Here is the bottle.

I changed out my purses this week. This is a bag I got a couple years ago at
Shop Suey Boutique in Redlands, CA.
They do celebrity/designer inspired knock off bags.
Love me some shop suey! There bags hold up great and they are super affordable.

Can I just say I have THE BEST FRIENDS EVER! My friend Heather AKA "Buss" took
me to Cracker Barrel this week to catch up and bought my dinner. So sweet. No wait, it
doesn't stop there. I was browsing in the store after we ate and picked up a couple things
that looked appealing to me... ie the Woodwick candle in Currant and chocolate fudge.
She grabs them both and buys them for me as a sweet surprise to make me feel better.
How sweet is that? She is seriously one of the most giving sacrificial people I know.
Always looking to do something for someone else. Lessons to be learned from people
like her! Love you Buss!

And last, what other than a Labor Day treat from my mom. Those of you that know
my mom know that she is the world's best at surprises and "treats" as I like to call them.
She got this cute lavender top at this boutique shop in Cullman called
"What a Girl Wants" I believe is the name. She said they had lots of super cute
outfits... so you Cullman gals need to check it out. : )

Have a great weekend!

Friday Product Faves

TGIF Peeps!!
I thought I would start a new post on Friday's where I feature favorite products.
They may be products I am using a lot this week. Products I want to buy. Products I just
bought or favorite products I am using or have used.

Whatcha think? You game? Speaking of game... tomorrow starts college football!
For all you Bama fans... ROLL TIDE ROLL!!

So, this is one of China glaze new fall polishes called "Trendsetter." I bought this on
Amazon this week. SO EXCITED! It will be such a fun and different color to sport this fall.

I have been using these Say Yes to Cucumbers wipes a lot this week. They are really
gentle and great lazy way to remove your make-up when you want a quick fix.
Only draw back is they could be a bit more moist.
Really affordable though at your local drugstore.

I am a bubblebath queen! I take baths ALL DA TIME b/c I don't wash my hair but
two times a week. (Go read my Dry Shampoo post.) So, I bathe a lot. I've been really sad
this week which ALWAYS leads to more bath time and relaxation.

I have been loving these two together during baths.
Ulta Shower Smoothie in Chocolate Milkshake (yummmmm)
Bath and Body Works candle in Caribbean Escape

What better company to watch you bathe than Harley cat?! Ya'll she seriously
loves bath time. She sits like that and will just watch me. : ) It is so stinking cute!
She likes to dip her paws in the soap suds and she eats it!! haha. Crazy thing.
I am NOT a crazy cat lady... so don't even go there with me! You know how I know this?
B/c I LOVE ALL ANIMALS!! Crazy cat people just loves cats.

Other names for Harley: Harhar, Buggie, and Hey Girl!

I have used Mac "Satin Taupe" eyeshadow a lot this week. I am so into the color
taupe right now. I think it's SO GORG! I really think this color can be used all year around.
It's great in crease with a light color for a more natural look or I have been wearing
it all over my lid this week for a bit more smoky look!

Finger swatch.

Ha, what a goob! There is "Satin Taupe" on my eyes!

Have a great weekend and fun Labor Day!!
