Product of the Day- Lip Butter

I hope you had a great weekend. It has officially gotten chilly and feels like fall
here in Alabama. I am ready for a touch of colder weather... just nothing too crazy!

Today's POTD is a Revlon lip butter. These lip butters have been my go to lip
product this year. I have a variety of shades and they are very moisturizing, pigmented,
affordable, and just an easy product.

Sugar Plum is a gorgeous plum shade that is great for fall/winter. This color tends to
leave a bit of a stain behind due to it being a bit darker. It looks great with nude eyes or
purple's. Revlon lip butter retail for around $7 at your drugstore, but you can normally get
a buy one get one 50% off.

Have you tried any of Revlon's lip butters? If so which do you like best?

Hair Routine Update- Conair Curls

Hey Everyone, hope you had a great weekend.

Last week I did a post about a new hair routine I was going to try and see how I liked.
I thought I would give you some updates after trying the leave in conditioner, oil, and conair spiral
curlers.

So, let me first start by saying by hair was much softer and felt healthier with using the Loreal
Eversleek Argon oil. Big fan of that product already! They also featured it on the Today show
recently as a great alternative to the highly purchased and sought after Moroccan oil.

I still want to play around with these curlers some more because the morning after I slept on them
wet I wasn't thrilled with the look. My hair was a bit large and kind of crazy looking, but after a day or two of wear I actually did like the curls and look a lot. My curls were more defined, tighter, bouncier,
and polished looking. I do think these curlers would be a great look for a special event if you
wanted lots of volume and spiral curls or waves. So, if you have holiday events around the
corner this could be a great look to try.

I thought I would just attach some pictures of various days of having the Conair curls and
let you do your own analysis of what you think! : )

Last Tuesday night... project Conair Spiral curlers.
Not so sure about this....

Wednesday morning. CURLS!

I decided to pull the sides back so there wasn't so much going on
in the front. This seemed to tame it down a little and make it more wearable.

Curls on Friday night for GNO and celebrating Lisa's 30th!!

Me, Lisa, Rachel, Alison out and about.
As you can see here I took a bobbi pin and pulled back my bangs/front.

I am attaching this picture for 2 reasons:
1. You can see the front of my hair really well and the sprial curls.
2. Alison and I doing the Wop.
Nuff said. : )

Another curl picture with Rach on Friday night. She came down from C town
to spend the night with her bestie! We had such a fun night!

So, a few closing things to know about my hair with these curlers:
1. The look lasted me 5 days
2. Applying the curlers was easy and took about 10 min max
3. Taking the curlers out the following morning was effortless. No pulling or tangles getting them out.
4. After a day of wear they do become more wearable and tame.
5. Easy and affordable way to get bouncy curls.

What do you think about these curls? Would you try the Conair spiral curlers?

Wednesday Wishes

Happy Hump Day!!!

I'm very excited to bring you my second edition of Wednesday Wishes and the
items I wish to have in my collection.

Today's product is something I just recently heard about, but am so fascinated with
the concept.

Most of us girls love a good lip gloss, right? But, what's the most frustrating thing
about glosses??? If you're like me you would say how quickly they come off. Normally after
a sip or two of my drink or talking for a little while and it's gone. Who wants to just keep applying
lip gloss all day long?? Not me.

So, an alternative to gloss is a lip stain. A stain is going to stay on your lips for a long period
of time, not rub off, and give your lips a natural hint of color that stays through drinks, eating,
and whatever else you are doing with them lips! : )

Ok, so what if there was a product that combined both of the benefits we like from a gloss
and a stain? Glossy lips with the lasting power of a stain?!

I bring you... YSL Glossy Stain.

I'm going to let Sephora tell you more about why this products sounds like a winner:

yves-saint-laurent

                                                ROUGE PUR COUTURE
                                                 Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain

What it is:
A revolutionary new lip product that combines the texture and shine of a gloss with the long-wear of a stain.

What it does:
Coat your lips with this lip color that offers a lightweight texture, which immediately melts onto lips. Glossy Stain delivers intense glossy color for an extremely long-lasting shine.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Petrochemicals
- Phthalates
- GMOs
- Triclosan

What else you need to know:
The applicator's unique slanted tip and short soft bristles allow for flawless application with perfect precision.

Does this excite you as much as it does me?! The only thing that makes this product hard to buy
is the price tag. It's retails at Sephora for $32 for a .20 oz container. WOWZA!!! $32 for
lip gloss?!?! That's more than my foundation! So, obviously this would be a special splurge
product. Maybe a stocking stuffer, birthday surprise, or a very special treat for yourself.
I love a good treat. : )

YSL is a very expensive brand at Sephora, but they really are known for their lip products.

Would you splurge on this product?!?!

Product of the Day- New Hair Routine

My current hair routine since spring has been curly wavy natural hair and I
have thoroughly enjoyed this look. It's super easy, full of volume and curls, and glamorous.

However, my routine has left my hair really dry and somewhat unruly on the ends. Let's be honest
my hair could probably use a good haircut and if I brushed through it occasionally instead of
letting it dry naturally I might not have the problem I do.

So, I still want curls and I want them to be my curls without heat, but I want softer more
healthy touchable curls. I have done some research and come up with a routine that I am
looking forward to trying.

Step 1:
Washing and Conditioning with John Frieda Hydrating line for
Extra Dry Hair.

Step 2:
Spraying John Frieda Leave-in conditioning spray to
the ends of my hair where there is the most dryness.

Step 3:
Applying this Loreal Eversleek Argan Oil treatment to the ends
of my hair for extra smooth and soft results.

(Bought this last night and it smells ahhhh-mazing, retails for $14 and I am hoping
is a great cheap alternative to the expensive Moroccan Oil that retails for $40 plus)

Step 4:
Apply these Conair spiral rollers all over my head, go to bed with
wet head, and wake up in morning to take these out and hopefully have beautiful, healthy, soft,
touchable curls! Fingers crossed.

This will obviously require a bit more time than my current routine, but not too much more.
I still plan on this lasting me days before re-washing. I typically only wash my hair twice a week
and use dry shampoo in between washes.

Stay tuned for a review of how this look turns out.

Weekend Rewind, What's in my Bag?

Hey Everyone. I hope you had a great weekend. I grabbed a few things
this weekend beauty related and wanted to pass along.

I've been curious about the Loreal 360 clean cleanser with the
exfoliating and pore cleansing sponger for a while now.

I decided to try it out this weekend and see if it's something that may be a skin care
staple.

I love the packaging and how the pore cleansing sponge pops in and out of
the bottle. The sponge is really fun to use. It's got a nice soft texture and makes for a fun
experience to cleanse... you really feel like you are giving your skin a better and deeper cleanse.

Retails for around $6.

I needed a new base and top coat polish and have heard great things about the
Revlon Colorstay line and how long lasting and glossy these polishes give
your nails. I did use on Friday night and was impressed.

These retail for around $7, but Revlon usually has buy one get one 50% off.

MORE MAKE-UP WIPES!!! You guys know how much I love my wipes. I am
almost out of my Burt's Bee wipes and decided to go back to the Yes to Cucumbers. I have
used these several times and love how gentle they are and the cucumber fresh smell they have.

So, that's what was in my bag this weekend, what did you pick up?!

Product of the Day- Eye Duo

Today's POTD is brought to you by the Loreal Hip Eyeshadow Duo.
I bought this duo last fall and I think it's a gorgeous combo for fall/winter months.

BAM! How pretty, right?!

The left shade is a rich light silvery beige/taupe and the right shade is beautiful shimmery
plum. Both of these shades are so creamy, blend-able, and pigmented!

The taupe shade works well on most every skintone. The purple could be a tad dark
for really light skin, but can also be blended out.

They both apply really well and have great staying power through the day... especially if you
use a primer.

This duo retails at drugstores for around $8.

The back of product opens up where a applicator is stored which is nice for on the
go application.

Have a great day!

Wednesday Wishes- Skincare

I know I have mentioned this before, but my skin tends to need some serious 911
in fall/winter months. I don't know why, but my skin tends to break out so much more this
time of the year. Maybe it's the lack of sunshine... or maybe it's me and my diet.

But, there are a few products on my wish list for new skin care products that I want to
try out and see how my skin responds to.

As far washes there are two:

Bioderma is a French product that is mostly sold in Europe, but you can buy
it on Amazon. It is a very mild non rinse face and eye cleaner. It doesn't require
water and you just use a few cotton balls to clean all the make up off your face.

I'm heard many great things about this product and the benefits it has of clearing up
break outs as well as maintaining clear skin.

Retails for $26 for the largest bottle.

Fresh is a brand that is sold at Sephora and is known for several bestselling products.
One of them being the Soy Face Cleanser. It is rich in amino acids, soy proteins promoting
moisture retention, elasticity, and firmness. It is fragrance free and soap free.

It's a very gentle cleanser which can be really good for calming skin that is
broken out.

My mom has used this wash for a while now and really likes it.
This baby is a goodie. Ole Henriksen is another line sold at Sephora. Their Invigorating
night gel is described as a lightweight gel that stimulates cell turnover, exposing a younger firmer
looking complexion. A soothing moisture barrier instantly seals in essential vitamins and
minerals.

I used this product last year and really enjoyed it. It not only provides ingredients to fight
aging, but also has ingredients that help fight against break outs. This gel does sting just
a little when applied, but it's a good sting because cell turnover is working.

So, who wants to buy me these things and have it shipped to my door?!?!

Product of the Day- Blush

If you are looking for a great fall neutral blush then stay tuned as I have the perfect
color! There is a reason this blush falls on MAC's bestselling blush list.

It's so gorgeous! MAC Gingerly is a very unique color that flatters most skin tones. It's
a brick/brown kind of color as it has hints of red and orange to it.

As you can see it's not your typical brown or pink neutral. It's got some spice to it that will work
well with most looks you want to do. You could pair this with a bold smoky eye or
a bold lip and not have too much color on your cheeks, but enough to give you a healthy glow.

Gingerly is a sheertone finish which is nice because it has color, but is not going to apply
too heavily.

MAC Gingerly retails for $20.

Wednesday Wishes- Hair Mask

I thought I would start doing posts on Wednesday's with things that are on my beauty wish-list.
My beauty wish-list is growing all the time so I thought this would be a good way
to share things that are on my radar and I've done some research on.

My hair has gotten really really long and the ends are looking a little fried these days.
I need to get a good trim, but I keep putting it off. I don't put a lot of product or heat in my
hair. Since the spring I have been wearing my hair wavy/curly with minimal drying with a
diffuser.

My hair type is more dry/coarse. So, I thought this would be a nice addition in my
shower for the occasional treat/pamper.

What this product claims to do:
"L'Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Masque is designed to intensely nourish and replenish the hair, for a glossy-looking result.

The formula is enriched with special oil blends - argan, avocado, cottonseed and grapeseed."

 Directions for use:
"Apply L'Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Masque and work into shampooed and towel dried hair. Leave on for up to 3 minutes. Rinse."

From what I can tell by searching online for this product it may be somewhat of a challenge
locating this in a store. But, online it seems to be retailing for $25.

I think this is something my hair would thank me for in the winter. My hair is in
some serious need of pampering as I have not been getting it cut on any kind of regular basis.

Have you ever used a hair mask? How did you like it?

Product of the Day- Blush

Today I thought I would share a new blush that I have been using and if you are in
the market for a new VERY affordable blush this may interest you.

Rimmel "Autumn Catwalk" is a peachy pink blush with three different shades of
pink and when mixed together gives off a gorgeous color. Because of the various shades
from light to dark you can customize the color you want based on your skintone.
It has slight shimmer, but not glittery
at all so gives a nice glow.

The blush is actually marketed as a blush/highlighter because the very lightest shade
on far left can be used to highlight your cheekbones. I don't find that it works that well, but
if you have really light skin you may get a better result.

For a drugstore blush retailing for under $5 this is a great staple blush with good color
and pigmentation. And how cute is the name?! I want to use it more during this time of the
year just because it has such a fun fall name.

Would you buy this blush?

Weekend Rewind, What's in my Bag?

So, here we are again back at Monday. Seriously, how do the weekends keep going by so
stinking fast.

So, for those of you who read my "Say Yes to Which Dress" post I promised to do a
dress reveal post today on which dress I picked to wear to the wedding in my hometown.

So... drum roll please!!!!!

The teal green Bar 111 classic fit dress was the winner!!!

There was really no question when I tried this one on. It fit like a glove,
was a great fall color, and so so very practical. This dress is dressy enough for a
afternoon or night wedding, but could also be worn in the workplace or to other events.
AND... it will never go out of style!

Winner winner chicken dinner, ladies!

A long time friend, Hunter.
Black necklace is from Francesa's .
Black clutch is Nine West.
Black closed toe pumps were also from Nine West.

Hunter and I again. This is the only pic I have with full length.
How pretty is all the fall decor in background?! Love!

After the wedding Mdub and I had a date night to the Cullman County Fair!
We were so excited about this. Literally like little kids.

Here we are on the swings!

Ha. Inside joke!

And on the Ferris Wheel. I was scared to death. He kept telling me to look out
and all I could do was grab his arm and say I want it to be over. The only reason we even rode
the Wheel was for a cute pic, but as you can see I didn't really get one. : (

How was your weekend?! Do anything fun?
