Weekend Rewind, What's in my Bag?

Well, Hello Blog World...

It's been ummmm, quite a while since I have sat down with you and had a chat.
I've been so unmotivated to blog lately... not sure why, but that apathy has set in as it
does. However, I did pick up some beauty goods this weekend and wanted to share.

I am almost out of my Fresh Soy Cleanser and I absolutely love what it
does for my skin, but it's $38 for 5 oz which is steep. I decided when I was out
I would go back to the Purity Cleanser by Philosophy b/c you really
get more bang for your buck and it's a great cleanser.

This 16 oz bottle was $33 and the great thing about Purity is it is a one step
cleanser. It is a PH balanced cleanser that dissolves dirt and makeup while
cleansing pores. It is one of the best selling cleansers on the market and is for
all skin types. It has a nice clean spa type smell.

I'm almost out of dry shampoo and picked up a can of the Batiste sassy and daring
scent. Rarrrrrr! Never tried this can and I love some leopard print so why not!

I have been hearing so many great things about Mario Badescu skincare products.
They are sold at Ulta and their line began in a New York salon with botanically based
ingredients. Their line is loved by many celebs, but super affordable for the every
day gals.

I don't have an eye cream in my skincare routine right now so decided I would start
with the Ceramide Herbal Eye Cream that contains Vitamin C and reduces
the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  This retails at Ulta for $16 and contains
.05 oz.

While also being out of exfoliator I picked up the Clinique
7 day scrub which is an oldie but a goodie. This is gentle enough
for daily use and is just a great staple to have in your skincare routine.

Guys, I have a lippie problem. I seriously cannot stop buying lipsticks and glosses
lately. OB-FLIPPIN-SESSED. I've been wanting a light coral/peach lippie and while
also being curious in the new Kardashian KHROMA line I decided to pick up this joystick
in the color Sea Coral and it is gorgeous. It also smells like Vanilla which I love. If you own any
MAC lipsticks they will have a familiar scent.

This color reminded me of Kourtney. She always wears a light peach on her lips with a smoky
eye and it's so pretty. Her makeup looks are by far my favorite of the girls. She just looks
so put together in a not overdone way to me.
These retail for $8.99 and have more of a matte finish.

Did you shop any this weekend? I know you did.. tell me what you bought!

Weekend Rewind

Here we are again... back at Monday.
Where do my weekends keep running off to?

On Monday's I've been linking up with Lindsey for fashion posts.
Go check out her blog and link up if you have an outfit you want to share!

I posted a picture a while back on Instagram of a potential Easter dress I was considering
buying by Bar III. I did indeed buy and wear it for Easter and thought I would pass along
the deets. Quick nugget of info on me... I love, love, love Rachel Roy and Bar III dresses
at Macy's. I am the probably the most indecisive person you will ever encounter at times
and finding brands that I love and can go directly to in a big department store has
alleviated much anixety.

Don't you just love all the peplum stuff out right now. This is the only piece
I currently own, but I find it so classy and feminine.

I'm a big fan of this light turquoise color for spring/summer.

This dress has a snug fit, high neckline, and a back exposed zipper. I love this dress
because I feel that it's very funtional. I wore this to church, but could also wear to work
with a tan cardigan or blazer, or a wedding.

The shoes are a nude closed toe sling by Nine West. I paired a strand of pearls along
with my Bulova square faced watch.

If interested Macy's still has this dress and it's actually on sale. Click here for
more info.

Weekend Rewind, What's in my Bag?

On Monday's I'm going to start linking up with Lindsey on her
My Style Monday posts. Go check her blog out... great girl with a big heart!

Yesterday I finally got to to go to the Huntsville H&M at Bridgestreet Mall. I've been
longing to go since they opened last year and I'm sad to announce I was so disappointed.
Selection was eh and prices were too steep in my opinion.

But, I promise to not go on a rant about H&M. The good news is I did find two things that I felt deserved a home in my closet.

Ok, let me first say... I have no idea where I am going to wear this dressy
little number, but I don't care! I will find a place and create a reason!

I have always wanted a black long sleeved lace fitted dress like this.
In my opinion it just doesn't get much classier and sexier than this look. It was one
of those dresses that I put on and was like yep, I have to have this one.

It's amazing how a dress can alter the way you feel when it has the right fit and the right
look.

You can't see the back in this picture, but it scoops down to about where your bra would hit so
you get some back showing as well!! woop!

This was my love purchase for $25.99!

I love this black/white stripped pencil skirt for work. I just paired a little black
cotton/lace sleeveless top that buttons in the back.

Skirt  $24.99
Top: $25.99

So, there you have my first Alabama H&M purchase. I've been to the Chicago H&M years
ago, but unless somthing changes drastically with our store here in AL I don't think
I will be in any mad rush to go back.

Do you love H&M?!

Weekend Rewind, What's in my Bag?

Hey Everyone. I hope you had a great weekend. I grabbed a few things
this weekend beauty related and wanted to pass along.

I've been curious about the Loreal 360 clean cleanser with the
exfoliating and pore cleansing sponger for a while now.

I decided to try it out this weekend and see if it's something that may be a skin care
staple.

I love the packaging and how the pore cleansing sponge pops in and out of
the bottle. The sponge is really fun to use. It's got a nice soft texture and makes for a fun
experience to cleanse... you really feel like you are giving your skin a better and deeper cleanse.

Retails for around $6.

I needed a new base and top coat polish and have heard great things about the
Revlon Colorstay line and how long lasting and glossy these polishes give
your nails. I did use on Friday night and was impressed.

These retail for around $7, but Revlon usually has buy one get one 50% off.

MORE MAKE-UP WIPES!!! You guys know how much I love my wipes. I am
almost out of my Burt's Bee wipes and decided to go back to the Yes to Cucumbers. I have
used these several times and love how gentle they are and the cucumber fresh smell they have.

So, that's what was in my bag this weekend, what did you pick up?!

Weekend Rewind, What's in my Bag?

So, here we are again back at Monday. Seriously, how do the weekends keep going by so
stinking fast.

So, for those of you who read my "Say Yes to Which Dress" post I promised to do a
dress reveal post today on which dress I picked to wear to the wedding in my hometown.

So... drum roll please!!!!!

The teal green Bar 111 classic fit dress was the winner!!!

There was really no question when I tried this one on. It fit like a glove,
was a great fall color, and so so very practical. This dress is dressy enough for a
afternoon or night wedding, but could also be worn in the workplace or to other events.
AND... it will never go out of style!

Winner winner chicken dinner, ladies!

A long time friend, Hunter.
Black necklace is from Francesa's .
Black clutch is Nine West.
Black closed toe pumps were also from Nine West.

Hunter and I again. This is the only pic I have with full length.
How pretty is all the fall decor in background?! Love!

After the wedding Mdub and I had a date night to the Cullman County Fair!
We were so excited about this. Literally like little kids.

Here we are on the swings!

Ha. Inside joke!

And on the Ferris Wheel. I was scared to death. He kept telling me to look out
and all I could do was grab his arm and say I want it to be over. The only reason we even rode
the Wheel was for a cute pic, but as you can see I didn't really get one. : (

How was your weekend?! Do anything fun?

Weekend Rewind, What's in my Bag?

Happy start to a new week. This weekend went by entirely too fast, but I hope you
had a good one.

I made a stop by Target Friday night after dinner with the fam for my Dad's birthday and why
oh why is it so hard to walk out of Target with just an item or two.
Target and I have a passionate love affair going on. shhhhhh, don't tell.

So, here are my goodies from the weekend:

I've read so many great reviews about the Revlon Colorstay quads. I believe these came
out this year, but they are supposed to be really long lasting and pigmented.

I got the shade Decadent. As you can see it is very neutral pink/gold look.
Pretty!
(Review to come)

Another Revlon item on my wishlist was the Colorburst gloss in shade
Rose Pearl. It's a frosty rose shade. I wore it yesterday and really like it.
(Review to come)

PENS!!!! ha.
I put this in here to be a little funny. Right behind my beauty obsession is pens
and school supplies. The pen section is like a magnetic that just pulls me in.
I get so excited to have new writing utensils for work/whatever. I started taking
an Old Testament type seminary class on Wed nights and I am SO
excited to have these pens for this week's class!!

Target had some really cute new fall clothes out. Mdub talked me into
getting this light blue jean button down. He likes that hippy slight edgy look and
thought this would be really cute with dark or black skinny jeans with boots.
I concur.

Great for weekend out and about.

Xhilaration, $22.99

Love, Love, Love this navy/gold printed stretchy pencil skirt.
Looking forward to sporting this at work for a dressier look with a
sheer cream blouse tucked in with some gold jewelry!

Back zipper. Cute!

Xhilaration, $16.99

I love sheer tops right now. They are great for the transition in season b/c
they are very lightweight, but give you more of a fall feel.

Love this tan/cream bubble print. Will wear with dark skinny jeans and
boots to work or weekend out and about.

More back zippers.

Xhilaration, $19.99

Another sheer navy/hot pink zig zag print .

And more back zippers. Seems to be the theme for my threads.

Xhilaration, $19.99

Did you pick up anything fun this weekend?!

Weekend Rewind, What's in my Bag?

Hey People!
So, I didn't do much shopping this weekend. I actually went by Ulta
to pick up one of OPI new fall shades, Berlin there Done that, and put it back after
comparing it to Essie Chinchilly ( a color I own) and realizing they were so close in color.

So, yeah I walked out of an Ulta empty handed!!!! Wow. Props to be for practicing some
self control!

I did spend this weekend with some of my bestest girl friends at Jana's baby shower! She is having
a little girl this November, Harper Finley. The girls I went to High School with have a tradition
of hosting a lingerie shower when you get married and baby shower for your first child. I think it's
really special that through all the years we have remained so close and truly share a sisterhood.
It's hard to find good friends and it's even harder to find friends that last throughout seasons
of your life and I feel so blessed to have that with these girls.

Here's a funny pic from the shower. We are missing a couple that left
early. We realized as everyone was leaving that we hadn't taken any pics
so here is the one photo we have all sandwiched in.

After the shower on Saturday I took Millie Moo the maltipoo for some special celebrating.
She turned the BIG ONE YEAR OLD Saturday!!! We made a trip to PetSmart where
we picked out a new toys, new treats, and a birthday cake! After our PetSmart experience we
went to Rhodes Park in Highlands for some playing and walking and meeting new doggie
friends. I did my best to make her day special! : )
The top left picture is from the day I brought her home! How sweet is that
baby girl?!?! Love my Millie moo.

Sunday was spent having a Breaking Bad marathon. Mdub and I have been trying
to catch up on this show. We made it to Season 3 yesterday. Are you guys familiar with this show?
Oh my word, it is SO good. It is dark and dramatic and can be emotional and stressful at times,
but such a realistic dramatic show! LOVE it.

How was your weekend? Do anything fun? Buy anything special?

Weekend Rewind, What's in my Bag?

Hey Guys!
I hope you had a great weekend. For those that live around AL we had great cooler weather
in the mornings that was a nice season change!

I cannot get away from Bath & Body fall candles. I have mentioned before how much I love
their candles in the Fall. Mmmmm, they are so yummy!

So, "Leaves" is one of my most favorite scents and I already have 2 of them and will more than
likely go through more before end of year. But, I grabbed a couple others this weekend
and am already in love.

Get in your car right now and drive to the nearest Bath & Body and get
Pumpkin Cupcake, NOW!!! I cannot even begin to tell you how yummy and
delicious this candle smells. I literally want to take a spoon and eat this.

As you can see from the pic I already spent some time burning this baby this weekend
and my house smelled of Fall. I was going to try to wait until October to burn this one, but
I could not wait. I will for sure be buying another one of this scent.

Bath and Body describes Pumpkin Cupcake as:
"The perfect pick from the corner bakery this fall. A spiced pumpkin cupcake with
rich buttercream and frosted ginger."

Marshmellow Fireside is another one of my faves. I bought this last fall and it's
such a unique scent. It really does smell like a smoky fireside pit and roasting smores
and marshmellows.

Bath & Body describes Marshmellow Fireside as:
"A sweet toasty end to a long cold day. Toasted marshmellows and sumptuous vanilla
cream blend with the comforting aroma of rich smoldering woods."

Candles are truly one of my favorite things about the Fall season.
What candles do you enjoy this upcoming season?!

Weekend Rewind, What's in my Bag?

I hope everyone had a fabulous Labor day weekend. I always get a little sad over LD b/c
it is the holiday that ends the summer. You know how much I love spring and summer and I hate
to see it go. Sad day.

However, I did have a lovely long weekend in Gulf Shores, AL with my whole dad's side of the
family. Grandparents, Aunt and Uncle, Cousins, and mom and dad. We have never had a beach
trip with everyone and it was truly a memorable weekend that I'm so thankful to have. My
grandparents are old and you never know when something will happen. So, I cling to memories
like these with them. I really cling to as many family memories as I can get. I feel overly
blessed with such a wonderful family. There is such strength, comedy, strong values, integrity,
character, and fun that comes with the Story Fam. I'm going to quit now before I need my tissue.

There are some great outlets in Foley near Gulf Shores and I picked up a couple things at
Coach. Sad thing is I am really not sure how much I like them. They were semi impulsive buys and
now that I'm home and have bills and other things I want for fall I'm kind of like whyyyy did I buy
this stuff?! Ha. I just felt like I needed to bring something back from the beach.

This purse was totally impulsive. I literally grabbed it on my way to pay and decided to purchase
it in about 1 min. Brooke doesn't do this. Ever. I think through things meticulously. To the point where
it can annoy the heck out of me. So, I'm not sure why I decided to purchase this. Actually, I do.
It was 50% off and then you got an additional 30% off for Labor Day.

I'm really into cross over bags lately. Carrying less and being hands free is so nice. Esp in fall
for tailgates, shopping, or weekend fun.

With all the discounts this purse rang up for little over $100.

I'm just not sure that I love it that much. It's practical. Functional. And will go with everything, but
$100 for a cross over is a bit pricy.

These tortoise shell shades had been a purchase I was contemplating over the weekend.
I first saw them on Friday while we jetted over to the shops when a shower came through.

They are just a classic pair of shades.

Side view. I like that they don't have a big C. Not a fan of that... or the
ones that say "Coach" on the side.

Front view.

What do you think about my goods? I'm so torn and conflicted about them. I love having that
feeling of walking away with something and loving it and knowing you got a good deal or buying somethingyou have saved for and really wanted. I don't have that feeling with these things. Boo.

So, since there is a Coach outlet about 20 min from where I live I may take these back this week.

Thoughts? Opinions? Yes, please!

Weekend Rewind What's in my Bag?

It's almost Fall, Ya'll.

For most of you this time of the year is one of your most favorite seasons and you look forward
to so many things. Football games. Cooler weather. Tailgates. Scarves. Boots. Darker
nails and clothing. Halloween. Etc, Etc.

I have to be honest with you... Fall is probably one of my least favorite times of the year. I hate
the transition from summer to fall. I hate dark nights and cold weather. I hate knowing that kids have
to go back to school and their summer is over. And living in AL means people are OBSESSED
with college football. I enjoy some fun tailgates and being around friends and good food, but
I think I have accepted the fact that I just don't care that much about football and I get tired of
getting on FB and seeing nothing but that posted everywhere. Bleh!

So, anyway enough Debbie Downer talk. In the past few years I have enjoyed the season a lot
more. A few of my fave things about fall... dark finger nail polish, scarves, boots, fun decor, and
CANDLES!!!!! I love me some fall scents.

With all that said this weekend I picked up my favorite fall bath & body candle. Last year
I discovered "Leaves" and bought at least 3 rounds of this through the fall colder months.

Bath and Body describes this candle as:
"Celebrate the brilliant colors of autumn with this rich blend of golden nectar, red apple and berries. "

Gals, I can't even explain how rich and fall in a jar this scent smells. Do yourself a favor this
upcoming season and pick up a few of these! Your home will thank you for it!

Happy Monday and start to a great week!

Weekend Rewind

Happy New Week! I hope you had a great weekend. Can you believe this weekend
is Memorial Day?! HOLY MOLY where is this year going. I need life to slow the freak
down... just a little. My brother is flying home from FL this weekend and I cannot wait
to spend some time with him and talk. Miss that guy!

So, I am a bit conflicted on my Weekend Rewind blog posts. Do I keep things consist
with the purpose of this blog and write about all things beauty? Or, do I share more of my life
and actual weekend instead of just beauty product buys and reviews??!! What do you think?

I did buy some beauty goods this weekend, but I think I will save those posts for another day and
share more of my weekend with you. At least when I have more eventful weekends.

So, Al and I went to Do Day Day Saturday. Birmingham, AL has this event every
year in the Highland parks and it is a day dedicated to animals and raising money
and awareness for different groups and humane societies. I have always wanted to go
to this event, but never made it. Since I got Millie the Maltipoo last year I decided we
HAD to make an appearance.

It was such a fun and extremely hot day! We got there right at 11 for the pet parade.
I cannot even express to you how fun, weird, and hilarious this was. Imagine every kind of
possible dog dressed up, riding in convertibles, and throwing dog bones and candy.
Loved. It. : )

After the parade we ventured to the Jim n Nicks vendor booth where I decided to try this
nifty little concoction. BBQ sausage with pimento cheese, crackers, and jalapeno peppers.

So delicious!

Sweet girl was hot and tired. We found her some shade while we ate
lunch and she visited with all her new friends.
Yay for our first of hopefully many Do Dah Day's! Such a fun event.

Saturday night Al and I ventured over to Above downtown to meet some friends
that were celebrating birthday fun. This is such a neat place for night life and I wish more
people would catch on and it would become more popular. It is above (hence the name)
the Redmont Hotel.

We made some new friends and got the V.I.P. treatment.
Fun guys. Lots of laughs.

This pic turned out more clear... love the city background.

Can I be vain or a little arrogant for a second? If you know me or if you don't know me...
let me preface this with I am the least dramatic, conceited, vain person EVER! I am so
down to earth and laid back. But, with that said I am taking a moment to publicly be vain.

I was by far the most popular girl Saturday night. The DJ played the Wop and Wobble dance and
yes, I have learned these dances and yearn for the opportunity to bust a move. I had guys and girls
coming up to me everywhere asking about my dance moves. I had random people taking pictures
of me dancing, people wanting to learn these moves, getting back into the VIP section from
my moves, and being told by the DJ I was the prettiest girl there that night and it meant a lot
to have a girl like me getting the dancing started.

Don't hate me for saying that. Please. ha! It was just such a fun night.
I so want to quote from the song "Popular" from the Broadway show Wicked, but
I will refrain. ha!

Until next time....

"Wop Wop Wop a little harder
Look at how she wop she a party starter
I hope that security remembered to card her
Cuz I never done the wop where you ain't hotter
I never drop dime but I drop u a dollar
Tell her if you give me your number then maybe I call her
She said that she knew me and knew I'm a baler
Man I better wop outa here I'll see u tomorrow."

Weekend Rewind, What's in my Bag?

Hello Hello! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty eventful. Friday night was spent with some
of my girlies with dinner and a movie. We went to see the new Nicholas Sparks movie with
Zac Efron, The Lucky One. I should do another whole post of my awful thoughts of that movie.
In a nutshull... none of us liked it. Bad acting. No chemistry between the characters. And overall
just no emotional connection. I was SOO disappointed. :(

Saturday and Sunday were spent celebrating birthday's! I love birthdays. I am a HUGE birthday
person. Yes, I am that girl that plans my own birthday parties b/c I know no one else will
and it's so much fun! What other day do you get to celebrate a whole day of YOU?!
My friend Alison makes fun of me ALL THE TIME for being like that, but she's coming around.
She actually planned the best Curious George party yesterday for her little boy who turned 3.
I was so proud of her and all the effort she put into it!

Anywhoo, some Express goodies were in my bag this weekend. I had several coupons for being
a card holder on top of a reward card they sent me. I found these cropped colored Zelda skinny jeans.
I bought the outfit below on Saturday and wore it out Saturday night for my friend Matt's
birthday party. I loved the jeans so much that I went back on Sunday for another pair! I still had
more coupons that were valid so I ended up getting a really good deal on these.

LOVE this teal color called "Blue Dazzle." They fit so great and I love the
cropped cut for summer!

The top I have on was also from Express. I don't really know how to describe it. It's a silver
tank with a crochet type overlay. It's dressier. Fun. I like it.

So, yeah like I said after wearing the teal ones out on Saturday and knowing I still had a coupon
that was good I went back Sunday and grabbed another pair!! This colbalt blue color is called
"Celestial Blue."

The hot pink baggy shirt is from Express. I actually wanted this shirt in the white
to go with the blue, but they didn't have my size. I thought the hot pink would be a fun
and playful color for summer. I kind of like it with the blue.

LOVIN these pants. They retail for $69 and they also had red, orange, and white
in the store. May have other colors online.

My mom is notorious for buying Groupons and giving them to me. She is a
Groupon nut! So, she had bought a microdermabrasion groupon for a spa here in town and
it expired next week. She asked if I wanted to use it, but honestly I had that done
last year and it was not a pleasant experience. Yes, I know it's good for your skin, but
I just didn't want it done right now.

Anywhoo, they let me use the groupon for actual skincare products they sell in the
store so I cashed it in for this retinol eye treatment cream.  As you can see they come
in individual capsules that you break open. I don't have any kind of eye cream so
I am excited to have something to use.

I don't know anything about this line. I'm sure it's just a fancy spa product. There are 60
capsules inside and it retailed for $61!! Yikes.

So, that's my weekend. I hope you had a superb one. My ten year high school reunion is
NEXT WEEKEND. Holy Moly. How in the heck has it been ten years?! Stay tuned
this week for outfit reveals of what I'm going to wear... I think! ha!

Happy Monday!

Weekend Rewind. What's in my Bag?

This weekend I got to spend in Panama City Beach, FL with my mom and dad.
Have I mentioned this is my most favorite time of the year?! Well, just in case you
forgot.... THIS IS MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR!!! :)

I love drives to the beach. Windows down. Radio turned up loud. No make up. Comfy
clothes. Maybe a hat. Flip flops. Tan skin. Everything about summer is just easy. You
don't have to think about what to wear or what to pack. I really think I should live on
the beach for a year or two. I am dying to visit Miami this summer... any takers?! Never
been before and I SO badly want to experience their culture. I imagine my fedora hat,
some short shorts, baggy off the shoulder tops, big hoop earrings, and maybe I'll grab
a tat while I'm down there. ;) A henna of course.

Anyway, here are some snapshots of my weekend. We had great weather on Friday.
Rained all day Saturday which brought in the cold and wind. It was sunny yesterday,
but just extremely windy. I enjoyed sitting in the hot tub to stay warm.

POPCORN SCRIMP!!! I love me some bite size shrimp.

Had no idea until I got down there that some of my good friends, Mallory, Austin,
and their baby girl Finley were also down for her spring break. So, they picked me up
for dinner on Saturday night and we drove over to Rosemary Beach where they were staying.
What a cute and romantic little place!!! They rented a carriage house for the week and it
is a precious little house and community.

We had dinner at Old Florida Fish House. I ordered sauteed shrimp with cheese grits.
YUMMY in my TUMMY!!! We had some crab claws and fried green maters as well.
Good food. Good company. Fun times!

Look who made an appearance at the beach.... Millie the Maltipoo!! Ha. She loved it
minus all the sand she ate yesterday on her little walk which led to her being really sick.
I was getting pretty worried. But, alas she had a good BM this morning filled with with
clumps of sand! We are good people!

Stay tuned for the What's in my Bag part of my weekend.
I got some Beauty goodies.

Have a Sunshiny kind of day!
