First Impression- Loreal Glossy Stain

 Happy Hump Day!

I haven't finished my Christmas reveals, but wanted to do a quick post today on my
"First Impression" of the newly released Loreal Colour Riche Caresse Aqua Lacquer Lipgloss
Stain. That was a mouthful, huh?!

So, quick product description: These are a dupe for the expensive YSL glossy stains
that are sold at Sephora for $32. I did a Wednesday Wishes post back in the fall for wanting
that product, but I never splurged due to the price tag.
Loreal just released their version of a glossy stain and the concept is just how it reads...
a lip gloss that will stain your lips.

Here is the packaging of the gloss. It's really nice and somewhat fancy feeling with it being all gold.

Here is a swatch of the color I chose:
"Rose On and On" which is a natural and sheer peachy/rose color.

A great everyday natural shade.

And here you have it on my lips today!
I personally really like the shade for a soft natural look being at work and not wanting
anything too terribly flashy.

Overall thoughts and first impression of product:
I've used this a total of one whole day and was really impressed despite all the negative
reviews I read. Did my lips look glossy all day long? No. Did I have a stain all day long?
HECK to the YES, people! I applied this gloss yesterday morning around 8am and
still had a color on my lips last night at 11pm before I got in bed! I don't know about you,
but that is pretty darn impressive in my opinion!

The overall feel of this product is a little more dry and a tad sticky at times, but nothing
terrible. I felt like throughout the day I still had a little shine that set it apart from just
a stain.

I love long lasting products, especially lips! I am not just a chap stick kind of gal, so for
me this product is great just due to the staying and lasting power. I love not having a lip
product rub off after a few conversations at work or drinking a few sips of coffee.

My overall rating of this gloss after my first impression is:
A-
staying power... excellent
color pigmentation... great
price... great
glossy... ok

What do you think? Would you try this new Loreal glossy stain?

Product of the Day- Loreal Infallible Shadow

I'm back after a long weekend of food and festivities with a POTD.

I grabbed this Loreal Infallible eyeshadow in Amber Rush while out and about
with mom. It's one of those shadows that has been on my radar and I have heard countless
positive reviews on.

I must say the reviews live up and exceed any expectation I had!

These are sold as a single shadow and are packaged in this cute little plastic case that
screws off and product is in a little pot. This color is a beautiful rose gold color that looks
like pure gold when swatched.

It is rich in color, texture, and staying power. These are marketed as a 24 hour shadow, which
I can't vouch for, but I can say with a primer they last a whole work day without creasing
or losing the vibrant color.

I used Amber Rush as a lid color and paired a matte medium brown in my outer corner and
crease.

This color would make for a gorgeous holiday festive color due to the shine and shimmer
it provides.

Have you tried any of these shadows?!

Friday Face of the Day

TGIF!!!!

Well, we made it to Friday and I hope you have fun weekend plans ahead.

Today's FOTD is going to be a three in one... product review, holiday look, and fotd.

With the Holidays right around the corner I have tried a few looks that would be fun
to wear to a Christmas party, out and about, or just chilling with your family. I like this look
because it incorporates a soft gold eye with a wearable (in my opinion) red lip. I know some
people have a hard time sporting a red lip and if you are used to wearing a more neutral lip
it is a big change, but this one to me is a little more natural.

 Face picture with a flash
(you can see the colors a bit more vibrant)

Face without a flash in natural lighting

Key products used in this look:

On my cheeks I applied Benetint, a rosy lip or cheek stain that
gives a very natural flush of color.

After applying the cheek tint I applied this light pink blush by NYX in
Rose Garden to set the liquid.

For lips I used my new Covergirl blastlipstick lip duo in Smooch.
I have been curious to try this after hearing some good reviews and seeing all the
Sofia Vergara commercials.

This lip product is unique in that it is supposed to make your lips look
3 Dimensional as you use two colors. One shade is shimmer and the other is a matte cream.
The darker shade is to be applied all over your lips and then
the lighter color to the bottom center of your lip and it's supposed to give your
lips more depth.

Darker shade in Smooch.
It's kind of a brick red. It's not a bright cherry red at all.

Lighter shade in Smooch.
Lighter peachy/pink.

I have to say I do like the blastlipstick... it's very long lasting and has more of a matte finish
which I prefer. It does make for a more unique lip with the two shades incorporated. These
retail at your drugstore for $8.

Other products used for this look:

Face:
Clinique Even Better Foundation
MAC Soft & Gentle Highlighter
(blush included above)

Eyes:
Urban Decay Naked Palette in colors Halfbaked (all over lid) and
Buck (in crease)
Loreal Gel Liner in Black
Almay Get Up and Grow Mascara

Lips:
Listed above.

Have a great weekend!

Weekend Rewind, What's in my Bag?

Hey Everyone. I hope you had a great weekend. I grabbed a few things
this weekend beauty related and wanted to pass along.

I've been curious about the Loreal 360 clean cleanser with the
exfoliating and pore cleansing sponger for a while now.

I decided to try it out this weekend and see if it's something that may be a skin care
staple.

I love the packaging and how the pore cleansing sponge pops in and out of
the bottle. The sponge is really fun to use. It's got a nice soft texture and makes for a fun
experience to cleanse... you really feel like you are giving your skin a better and deeper cleanse.

Retails for around $6.

I needed a new base and top coat polish and have heard great things about the
Revlon Colorstay line and how long lasting and glossy these polishes give
your nails. I did use on Friday night and was impressed.

These retail for around $7, but Revlon usually has buy one get one 50% off.

MORE MAKE-UP WIPES!!! You guys know how much I love my wipes. I am
almost out of my Burt's Bee wipes and decided to go back to the Yes to Cucumbers. I have
used these several times and love how gentle they are and the cucumber fresh smell they have.

So, that's what was in my bag this weekend, what did you pick up?!

Product of the Day- Eye Duo

Today's POTD is brought to you by the Loreal Hip Eyeshadow Duo.
I bought this duo last fall and I think it's a gorgeous combo for fall/winter months.

BAM! How pretty, right?!

The left shade is a rich light silvery beige/taupe and the right shade is beautiful shimmery
plum. Both of these shades are so creamy, blend-able, and pigmented!

The taupe shade works well on most every skintone. The purple could be a tad dark
for really light skin, but can also be blended out.

They both apply really well and have great staying power through the day... especially if you
use a primer.

This duo retails at drugstores for around $8.

The back of product opens up where a applicator is stored which is nice for on the
go application.

Have a great day!

Wednesday Wishes- Hair Mask

I thought I would start doing posts on Wednesday's with things that are on my beauty wish-list.
My beauty wish-list is growing all the time so I thought this would be a good way
to share things that are on my radar and I've done some research on.

My hair has gotten really really long and the ends are looking a little fried these days.
I need to get a good trim, but I keep putting it off. I don't put a lot of product or heat in my
hair. Since the spring I have been wearing my hair wavy/curly with minimal drying with a
diffuser.

My hair type is more dry/coarse. So, I thought this would be a nice addition in my
shower for the occasional treat/pamper.

What this product claims to do:
"L'Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Masque is designed to intensely nourish and replenish the hair, for a glossy-looking result.

The formula is enriched with special oil blends - argan, avocado, cottonseed and grapeseed."

 Directions for use:
"Apply L'Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Masque and work into shampooed and towel dried hair. Leave on for up to 3 minutes. Rinse."

From what I can tell by searching online for this product it may be somewhat of a challenge
locating this in a store. But, online it seems to be retailing for $25.

I think this is something my hair would thank me for in the winter. My hair is in
some serious need of pampering as I have not been getting it cut on any kind of regular basis.

Have you ever used a hair mask? How did you like it?

Loreal Review

Well, Hello there. Long time no see, huh?! I'm going through my not wanting
to blog phase that I often hit... boo. But, I've been thinking about trying to do a
post per day with a review. What do you think? I have said often that I blog about
things I want or buy, but feel like I don't do as many actual reviews on these products
and give my feedback.

I don't know why I didn't do this during Lent when I wasn't shopping... this would have
been a perfect project, but sometimes my ideas are like a great afterthought.

Anyway, I'm going to try to commit to doing more reviews on products I own and
am currently using and give my opinions of why I love them, hate them, or am
indifferent on.

I have been using Loreal Magic Souffle Foundation for a couple of months now
and can honestly say I LOVE it. I bought this as a back up foundation for some of my high
end stuff I use and in the process has become my new fave!! This can be purchased at any drugstore or Target or Wal-mart for around 11-15 dollars.

When I first started using I wasn't in love with it b/c it does have a much
different texture that what I had been used to. It does have a whipped
souffle feel to it. It leaves my face with more of a matte powdery effect and at first I didn't
like that. I had been using Make Up Forever HD foundation which had a much more
dewy luminous finish. After using for a few weeks I really started to love the way my skin
looked when wearing this foundation. I never felt like I got oily or shiny and my
skin just had a very natural even tone to it.

When first applied you may think your face looks a little too matte or powdery, but just
let it set into your skin and do it's job and see how great your skin/face looks later in the day.
I think you will be impressed!

(see texture above)

I apply this foundation with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush (sold at Ulta) or with my
fingers for a more natural finish. I have been picking this foundation over a very high
end foundation I bought at Sephora by Hourglass. I just am in love with this foundation
and what it does for my skin.

Loreal claims that this foundation:
"Creates a flawless , silky, even toned finish and when applies daily will achieve
smooth poreless perfection."

I feel like it does all of those things. I am been struggling with feeling like my
pores around my nose and the apples of my cheeks are much more visible. Maybe
I just didn't notice them that much before, but I do now! Gross! I feel like this foundation
does a FANTASTIC job at making pores look so much less noticeable and just overall
great tone!

My shade for the winter months with no tan has been Buff Beige. I will definitely be
re-purchasing this again for the summer and will go up a shade or two.

Have a Great day! Let me know what foundations you have been loving lately!

Weekend Rewind. What's in my Bag?

Hello Lovelies!

Hope you had a great weekend... it's almost February... crazy, huh? Is it crazy that I am
a little excited about painting my finger nails red, pulling out some pomegranate
gloss and sporting some festive outfits?! Ha. I mean it's not like I'm going anywhere to
sport the reds for the month of love, but I can do it just cuz, right?!

So, this weekend I was on a mission to try out some drug store foundation. I am
almost out of my Make Up Forever HD foundation that I bought back in the fall and b/c
I'm not 100% convinced that I am going to repurchase I wanted to get a cheaper alternative
to hold me over until I decide what I want to try next.

I went into CVS with mom and was headed for the Revlon Color Stay foundation after
hearing great reviews on coverage, staying power, and the fact that it has two formulas
(dry and oily) based on your skin type. So, I find it, open the bottle, and was instantly turned
away from it. Guys, it was so watery and runny I just couldn't begin to fathom how that was
going to set into my skin. I was really disappointed b/c the girl who recommends it I love
and trust, but I showed my mom and we both were like no way... this can't work.

So, my next item on the list was Loreal. Heard of a couple different foundations that are
worthwhile, but settled on the Loreal Magic Souffle simple for the fact that it was on
sale for $9.99. : )

The packing is kind of nice. It's in a glass container with a pink top that twists off.

It has a very unique texture. Not a liquid. Not a powder. It is very whipped and creamy.
Very lightweight in texture. It's actually really nice.

I've used it once since purchasing on Saturday and the first thing I noticed after blending
is how much more of a matte finish it gives than the Make Up Forever. It almost has
more of a powdery finish. I'm not opposed to the look b/c I do have combination skin
and can get a bit oily in the T-zone so it may actually be a good finish for me.

In case you are wondering or not familiar with the brand Make Up Forever... it is
a brand exclusively sold at Sephora and one of the things they are know for is
their HD (high definition) products.

The Make Up Forever HD foundation I have been using is a liquid foundation and is
much more runny/watery and gives off a bit more luminosity to the skin that
the Loreal.

I bought the shade Buff Beige and it seems to work great for my skin.
My mom helped me pick out the color. I am TERRIBLE at picking out foundation
shades at the drug store. One of the reasons I never buy drug store foundation and powders
is b/c I never know if I'm getting the right shade.

It can really stress me out. ha.

As I'm checking out I see this EOS lip balm. Stands for Evolution of Smooth.
I've just heard they are great moisturizing balms and I really don't own
anything like this so I decided to get and possibly keep in my nightstand for before bed.

They are all natural.
Infused with Vitamin E, shea butter, and jojoba oil.

This is the Summer Fruit scent.

I did go home this weekend to spend some time with the parentals and for those
of you who don't know my parents live in Jasper, AL and there is this really
great boutique store there I like called Carol's. They are located inside the Jasper Mall.

They had some spring things out and I was drawn to this coral/peachy top/dress.
I think it will be cute this spring (with some color on my skin) and some gold jewelry
and maybe black pumps?! I'm not sure what kind of shoes to wear with this.

Coral is the shade of the upcoming season in case you haven't heard!! Love it.
Such a pretty color!! I'm SOOOOO ready for Spring/Summer. Gosh, once New Year's
is over I am SO blasted over the winter and cold.

The company that makes this dress is Hourglass Lilly in case you wanted to research
their merchandise.

Hope you have a great week!
Did you buy anything unique or fun this weekend?!
