It's Ok Thursday!

Hey Ya'll... I am doing a new post today and linking up with Neely.
So, here's to my first It's Ok Thursday...

It's OK...

That I had $20 in my banking account this week and booked a trip
to NYC with 3 girlfriends for next month! (Savings account)

To be sad that my roommate of 5 years is getting married and
moving out in December, but I am really looking forward to living
on my own and being a big girl!

That I haven't changed my cat Harley's litter in a month, but I still
want a puppy really bad! (gross I know)

That I spilled coffee all over me and my Brookstone blanket this morning.

That I am learning at 27 years of age that it is REALLY ok to be
very honest, open, and vulnerable with your friends and cry like a baby
when you need to and it doesn't make you weak. Being composed and put
together is way over-rated!

That I really enjoy my job b/c of the flexibility and bonus perks, but am
SO over it and may be ready to move on.

To DESPISE tweezing my eyebrows even though they look horrific!

To be excited and nervous that I am making an appearance in a dance club
this weekend for the first time in 3 years and I am driving my car b/c I'm
not sure I can make it past 1:00 am!

To thank God every day for blessing me with the most AMAZING
friends and family in the world... and also realize some friends that you
thought were a good friend really aren't as great as you thought and maybe they
only want to be a friend when it's convenient for them!

That I can't wait to see my Mom today b/c she is treating me to a mani/pedi!!!

Happy Thursday to ALL!

Weekend Rewind. What's in my Bag?

Happy Hump Day!
So, I have been a little behind this week with some of my posts... sorry! I thought
I would go ahead and show you what was in my bag this past weekend!

So, Friday night I spent time with one of my besties, Jana! We went to see Horrible
Bosses at the dollar theatre... terrible movie! Don't waste your time renting that one. After our
movie we headed over the the Galleria for some shopping time at the good ole Forever
of 21. Do you ever find yourself buying things that look like what other people would wear
when you shop with them? WELL, let me just say shopping with Jana led me to pick up
MANY cardigans. I didn't walk away with everything that I tried on, but Jana did have some
influence on me and all her crazy cardigans! Now, if I can just get her to paint her nails
dark and try some funky tights! : )

Basic Beige Cardi with pockets for
$13.50

Bama inspired Cardi with pockets
$14.50

This is my favorite! Love this shirt dress with some
black tights and boots for Fall!
$17.80

I grabbed two pair of skinnies in this dark wash
and unique gray
$10.50 a piece!

Saturday I went off to the southeast largest flea market in Tupelo, MS. My mom and I have never been before, but they go to church with some people that love to attend. They only
do the flea market the second weekend of every month so I guess it's kind of a big deal.
It was a neat atmosphere... not as big as we had expected, but I think some of the vendors
were closed. It had more of an arts/craft feel to it than what I consider a flea market.
They had lots of boutique shops, home furnishings, jewelry, hand made ceramics etc.

I picked up this necklace... I thought it would be really
cute this fall for a night out or maybe even to work!

LOOK AT THIS LITTLE GUY!!!!! Ok, this flea market had cage after
cage after cage of all kinds of puppies for sale!! I have wanted a puppy for so long,
but just wrestle with the responsibility they come with. I'm not sure that I am settled
enough in my life right now to keep up with one... but, I am still debating that! : )
Anyway, I didn't bring him home, but seriously considered it. He is a mini
schnauzer pup. My family digs on this breed. The parentals have a mini as well as
my Nana and they are not dogs... they are MEMBERS of the family!

I also should say... I had a mini emotional meltdown after seeing the dogs from the local
Humane Society. Those dogs were so sad looking... I just could not take it! Walked
away boo-hooing! Broke my heart!

The last thing I picked up was a few candles at Bath & Body. They have all their
fall scents out now... can I just say they have the BEST names this year! Go online and check
out all the different scents they have! After hours of deliberation I picked the winners.
I've heard great things about the "Leaves" scent so I picked up 2 of those along with
"Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin" and "Marshmallow Fireside." yummmm!!
I love fall scents!

Friday Product Faves

Happy Friday To All! What a week this has been...

Cheers to the weekend.

So, as I did last week I am going to feature some Friday Faves of things that I have been
using this week. Enjoy and have a happy weekend.

Look who dipped into the I Love Lettuce Lush mask last night...
If I was ever in need of a pampering last night was it!

So, this is how it looked on my face. This picture does not even come close to doing
justice to how gross this stuff looked. I looked like I had a disease or had boogers smeared
all over my face!! YUCK! But, I can say it did leave my face feeling tight and re-freshed.

Sticking with green theme... I have been loving the color olive on my eyes. I did a post
about this recently and just cannot get over how pretty olive looks with brown eyes. I am
not a big green person (on my face that is) and olive just is setting very well with me
these days.
Clinique: All Spruced Up Duo
Merle Norman: Hazel

On my nails this week I did "Jules" by Zoya.
It's a champagne light gold color.
Here is the bottle.

I changed out my purses this week. This is a bag I got a couple years ago at
Shop Suey Boutique in Redlands, CA.
They do celebrity/designer inspired knock off bags.
Love me some shop suey! There bags hold up great and they are super affordable.

Can I just say I have THE BEST FRIENDS EVER! My friend Heather AKA "Buss" took
me to Cracker Barrel this week to catch up and bought my dinner. So sweet. No wait, it
doesn't stop there. I was browsing in the store after we ate and picked up a couple things
that looked appealing to me... ie the Woodwick candle in Currant and chocolate fudge.
She grabs them both and buys them for me as a sweet surprise to make me feel better.
How sweet is that? She is seriously one of the most giving sacrificial people I know.
Always looking to do something for someone else. Lessons to be learned from people
like her! Love you Buss!

And last, what other than a Labor Day treat from my mom. Those of you that know
my mom know that she is the world's best at surprises and "treats" as I like to call them.
She got this cute lavender top at this boutique shop in Cullman called
"What a Girl Wants" I believe is the name. She said they had lots of super cute
outfits... so you Cullman gals need to check it out. : )

Have a great weekend!

A Natural Take

Happy Hump Day! Half way through our short week!

I went out to dinner with a friend recently after laying around in the house for hours upon
hours watching movies with no make-up, and not brushing my teeth until I met her for dinner
at 7:30. mmmm, yummy, right?! Oh, who cares the only person that was seeing me was
Harley cat! So, I wanted to put on a bit of make-up but really natural looking since I wouldn't
be wearing it for long.

So, I thought I would share my take on what I do when I want that fresh no make-up kind of look. Now if you don't wear much make-up as it is then this may be your go to every day
look. Or, you may think I look too made up as it is, but anywhoo this is my take.

Do you like my huuur?!! I totally wore it out to dinner like that....
And my robe too... : )
j/k

Products Used:
Clinique Tinted Moisturizer
Lorac Velvet Rope blush
Mac Bronzer in shade in Refined Golden
Mac Cultured Lipglass
Clinique Lid smoothie in Gingerly
Clinique High Impact Mascara
NO EYELINER!! My key in looking more natural... ditch it!

Enjoy your day.

Weekend Rewind. What's in my Bag?

I hope you all are having a GREAT Labor Day weekend with your family and friends!

I am WAY excited about this post because I made my first trip to LUSH!! For those of you
not familiar with Lush they are a cosmetic company that makes fresh organic products from
fruit and vegetables fresh by hand using little to no preservatives.

So, I have heard many great things about Lush from the beauty gurus and the closest store
from Alabama is Atlanta. So, I ventured over into the Georgia peach this weekend
and came back with some goodies to share with you! I ended up with 4 bath products
and 4 skincare/facial products. So, let's get started.

My Lush Bag

All my products! Aren't they pretty?!

This is called Ocean Salt and this is a face and body scrub.

Lush Description:
"We take the lime and the cocount plus grapefruit and sea salt and mix them together
in our stimulating, vodka based face scrub. For a complexion that glows.

This was the first product I decided on. The girl at the counter informed me this was
one of their bestsellers. She tested it on my hands and it smelled and felt great.

A small dab of this will go a long way.

Up close view of Ocean Salt. It is actually more blue in person
than this picture is showing. Pretty!

I got three facial masks. Like I said earlier these are super fresh. You have to keep
them refrigerated. You leave them on face for 5-10 min for best results.

This is the Brazened Honey Mask.

Lush Description:
"Stimulating Ayurvedic herbs and fresh fruit juices are blended together with
softening honey and ground almonds to polish skin that's in serious need of a boost.

This mask is called Ayesha.

Lush Description:
"Absorbent clays, nutrients, asparagus, vitamin rich fresh kiwi, as well as superbly
effective eiderflower all help to rejuvenate, relax, and refresh tired skin.

This smells so fresh and organic and salon like.

The last mask I got is called Love Lettuce. Sounds like of gross, right?
Really who wants to put lettuce on their face. Ha.

Lush Description:
"Polishing almond shell is balanced by the skin softening qualities of almond oil
and seaweed gel. With soothing lavender essential oil and the magical cleansing, tightening,
action of Fuller's Earth.

One thing Lush is known for is their bath products. I am always soaking up suds
in the bath tub so I was super excited to try some of their bath bombs and
bubble bars.

They all smell so yummy I literally have thought about biting into them!!! mmmm.

So, the cupcake looking thing above is a bath bomb called Mrs. Whippy.
It is a strawberry ice-cream bath tub dessert.
You place the whole piece in running bath water and it fizzes, smoothes and moisturizes.

Smells Yummy!

Bath Bomb in Twilight.
The scent is in Lavender and as you know Lavender is a scent that is used in
relaxing techniques.

Bath Bomb in Honey Bee.
Smells like Honey is a sweet yummy scent.

Honey naturally moisturizes and soothes and the water will turn caramel.

The last thing I picked up is called The Comforter.

This is a bubble bar and is intended for lots of bubbles. You actually break this off in pieces
for multiple uses.

Isn't it pretty?! Don't you just want to bite into it... well, imagine smelling it?!
It smells fruity and has blackcurrant in it.

So, there you have it peeps. A quick run down of all my Lush goodies. I will keep you
posted with reviews of how I am liking everything. :)

Happy Holiday Weekend.
Have a LUSHous Time!

Friday Product Faves

TGIF Peeps!!
I thought I would start a new post on Friday's where I feature favorite products.
They may be products I am using a lot this week. Products I want to buy. Products I just
bought or favorite products I am using or have used.

Whatcha think? You game? Speaking of game... tomorrow starts college football!
For all you Bama fans... ROLL TIDE ROLL!!

So, this is one of China glaze new fall polishes called "Trendsetter." I bought this on
Amazon this week. SO EXCITED! It will be such a fun and different color to sport this fall.

I have been using these Say Yes to Cucumbers wipes a lot this week. They are really
gentle and great lazy way to remove your make-up when you want a quick fix.
Only draw back is they could be a bit more moist.
Really affordable though at your local drugstore.

I am a bubblebath queen! I take baths ALL DA TIME b/c I don't wash my hair but
two times a week. (Go read my Dry Shampoo post.) So, I bathe a lot. I've been really sad
this week which ALWAYS leads to more bath time and relaxation.

I have been loving these two together during baths.
Ulta Shower Smoothie in Chocolate Milkshake (yummmmm)
Bath and Body Works candle in Caribbean Escape

What better company to watch you bathe than Harley cat?! Ya'll she seriously
loves bath time. She sits like that and will just watch me. : ) It is so stinking cute!
She likes to dip her paws in the soap suds and she eats it!! haha. Crazy thing.
I am NOT a crazy cat lady... so don't even go there with me! You know how I know this?
B/c I LOVE ALL ANIMALS!! Crazy cat people just loves cats.

Other names for Harley: Harhar, Buggie, and Hey Girl!

I have used Mac "Satin Taupe" eyeshadow a lot this week. I am so into the color
taupe right now. I think it's SO GORG! I really think this color can be used all year around.
It's great in crease with a light color for a more natural look or I have been wearing
it all over my lid this week for a bit more smoky look!

Finger swatch.

Ha, what a goob! There is "Satin Taupe" on my eyes!

Have a great weekend and fun Labor Day!!
